Monday, June 14th and finding the G-Spot

Jun 17, 2004 18:09

Due to the fact that my Internet café was full (more on this later) I’m updating via Word and will upload this later.

Sunday was a bit of a wasted day as I wandered to the wrong (read boring) part of the city and accomplished nothing. In a search for a Greek pizza place we ended up at TGI Fridays because we had a picky eater who reminds me of Pavlik (everything is “delightful”). This being my second straying from American food thus far, I was naturally hit with a case of indigestion that I still have and makes it feel like an alien is prepared to burst out of my stomach. Accordingly I held my agonized gut and went to bed early.

Today was a rather good day with mental masturbation that definitely rivaled Madison. I miss the days of destroying the idealist youth that are broken by MC 201 and 202, which I got to do in the form of a 30 year-old hippie today. We had a debate about the media and its role in conflicts, which, to no one’s surprise, was negative. The hippie brought up out paradigm and how we need to get beyond the “I” society, yadda yadda yadda. I then brought up that these arguments are rather pointless because policy makers can find the information and the average schmuck at home does not care and will not care, even should it be available. Feeble arguments that they would care were made and I acknowledge that it would be nice, but is ultimately a pointless exercise because people care more about local scandals and who won American Idol rather than the state of civil society in Iraq. It never really recovered from that point.

After lunch things got more interesting when we had Joost Hilterman of the International Conflict Group talk to us. He gave a brilliant analysis of the Middle East (he said exactly what I would say ) and called the hippie’s topic of depleted uranium a “non-issue”. I he had some great things to say and I was a huge fan. Everyone liked him. Corey was trying to get policy initiatives out of him by being “Karl Rove” which rather offended this mormon bitch who he then tore apart, saying that he had been in the Situation Room of the White House when these people were making jokes about bombing targets and had never seen a conflict zone or a refugee camp in their lives and that she shouldn’t be so naïve. These people are GREAT.

So, about my internet café-

Since it was full I was awfully tempted to go to another one that I found that is called the “G-Spot”. It’s a nice looking place and I’d love to spend more time there, but it’s a whole lot of work, so I don’t see myself going to the G-spot too often. Although I found the g-spot and it looks like a great place to play some games, spend some time, maybe write an e-mail to mother from, ultimately I can come, er, I mean go somewhere else and still get on…the internet. But hey, at least I know where the g-spot is and have to admit it looks like a comfy place, and maybe for the right lady I’ll make the trek alllll the way to the g-spot, but it’d take a lot of persuading. But the offer still stands ;-).

Alright, signing off.
