with a lot of fantastic mini lines said throughout the ep.
Though this is a hard pressed 4. Almost got a 3.5.
The vampire’s teeth are a cool nod to the original Nosfuratu. Rory’s stag shirts are amusing. Cute pic on them. And oh man….the Doctor popping out of a cake? What? Haha. And hey - he replaced his jacket. “Thought I burst out of the wrong cake…again.” LOL. Love that the Doctor casually mentions that Lucy the stripper is outside in a bikini and needs a sweater. And that shes a diabetic. Haha. And then the Doctor just blurts out that he and Amy kissed (and he thought she did it great) like its just a passing conversation piece. Haha.
I love that Rory is now a bit wiser than we have seen him in past episodes. You first see this when he mutters ‘It’s another dimension,” talking about the TARDIS interior. And it was funny to see the Doctor feel cheated that he didn’t get to hear someone say ‘it’s bigger on the inside.’ Why is it that nobody has asked why the Venetians aren’t speaking Italian. Are we just going to glance over the TARDIS translation deal? One simple line would cover it. HAHAHA the Doctor owes Casanova a chicken because of a bet. Classic. Its weird to see how at moments Rory and Amy have a normal looking relationship but then at other moments their relationship looks awkward at best (on Amy’s end). Like she’s just not into the relationship. And then later she suggests that Rory be her brother as she messes with his hair (after saying the Doctor should be her fiancé).
One or two of the vampire girls were cute. Ha. Love that the Doctor gets a little giddy when he notices they don’t have a reflection. Then flashes them his library card and it has the 1st Doctor’s picture on it. HA! “Yours is bigger than mine…” “Let’s not go there.” HA. O man. And oooo, Rory & Amy were going to have a salsa band for their wedding. Awesome. Then more Rory intelligence or insight; speaking to the Doctor - ‘its not that you make people take risks. Its that you make them want to impress you and not let you down.’ Great insight into the Doctor.
Hmm, the vampires are really insect type monsters. Cool. And come on, you HAVE to laugh when you see a full body view of the black guy in Rory’s stag shirt and the breechers or whatever. Hahaha. Awkward acting tho (or just perhaps written as such) when Isabella dies.
PERCEPTION FILTER?! AGAIN?!?!??? Oh come on! Is this the new ‘reverse the polarity’? Is every monster going to be using perception filters now? Holy crap that is just annoying. Oye.
I actually really enjoyed the ‘answer for an answer’ scene. Just watching them be amused by each others questions. Well done. At first I wanted to ask why she knew the Doctor’s name but then remembered that Amy had said it and she is smart enough to put two and two together. “I’m a Timelord. You’re a big fish. Think of the children.” HA! The Silence is kind of reminding me of the void or the darkness from season 4. Oh man.. the Doctor covering Amy and Rory’s mouth and then Rory covering the fathers mouth was so funny. “eehh. I may have been around a bit but really that’s…ehhh.” Hahaha. Wow, this episode has a lot of lines that I am enjoying. “Fish from space.” Haha “WE ARE VENETIAN!!” = “THIS IS SPARTA!” LOL. That was funny but for the wrong reason. Though it was very brave for the father to sacrifice himself while fighting the being that took his daughter from him.
Roseanna, the lead woman, knows a lot about the Doctor and the Timelords.
Interesting. Again, we see the Doctor loose his temper a little bit. Again, at Amy. The Doctor’s anger seems to come out a real lot in the 11th Doctor. His anger/frustration. Oh my god… Rory calls the son a spongebob and then makes fun of his mom. HAHAHA. But YAY - Amy is kissing her actual fiancé. Its kind of fun to watch Amy and Rory stand there and cheer the Doctor on. Its also kind of refreshing to see the Doctor be so accepting of Rory joining him and Amy in the TARDIS. In the classic series we see him travel with a few people. And we’ve gotten a glimpse of it in the new series with Jack and very briefly Mickey. But here the Doctor is very happy to have Rory come along which is nice.
