Fuckwit
oh man i just got back from seeing The Sisters of Mercy on tour with Ben. until just earlier today i had no idea id be going to that kick ass concert
so like earlier my brother calls me up and he's like hey do you want those two tickets I got for the concert. im not gonna go. i ask him why and he just says he dosent feel like it anymore. which kind of sucks whatever happened to get that change of attitude or mind or whatever. but anyway i said yea sure.
so i called ben and he said he'd go so im like , sweet.
so we get there and the line is huge of course and we go in and the place is a hell of a lot bigger than i expected. bigger than the outside looks. so we bought cokes from this cute drink selling girl, and waited for the show to start. there was this opening guy on his acoustic which was kind of weird, but alright i suppose as far as conventional acoustic performance goes. so after that it was a little while until the main show, in the meantime the place was filling up with fog from the machine, and then the Sisters of Mercy began to play.
now the thing is i had never actually heard them before. ive heard of them and sort of what they played, but this was basically going to be a new experince. they started playing and it was somewhat different from what i imagined but it was fuckin awesome. it was great because i hadnt heard any of it before so every song was a new one for me and it was live too so it sounded that much better. i was standing pretty close to the speaker but luckily my hearing was for the most part spared unlike my last show with Jello Biafra and the Melvins. the Melvins play REALLY fuckin loud. i mean i loved it but it totally screwed my hearing that night. so yea while there was a lot of people, the place was big enough so that it wasnt all crammed and packed. also there wasnt any damn people and their damn cigarettes to make me stink.
these shows always make me feel like i wish i was in a band and did badass shows and all that. i need someone to do it with! it would be fantastic
and this was definitely the longest show ive been to. the main set and then like 3 fuckin encores. it was badass.
