Critical analysis of a Season's Greetings

The majority of Americans perplex me so much. They are savvy and intelligent enough to recognize that there is now a difference in the connotation between "Happy Holidays" and "Merry Christmas". Though, they do not completely realize that this connotation was created by the media by simply stating it. Also, "The War on Christmas" is only apart of our society because the media states that "The War on Christmas" exists. In a matter of fact it is John Gibson, the host of the Fox News channel's "The Big Story with John Gibson" that literally wrote the book on the subject simply entitled The War on Christmas which, in my opinion, really further projected this dispute to this major national level.

In this Democracy we value individualism (folks, remember those core democratic values from your 8th grade MEAP and other junior high standardized tests?) but, we allow others to create an equal reality.

It is funny how our reality is a product of language.

"The War on Christmas". A war that has a small amount of policy attached to a large mobilization of society but, ALL of it is a fabrication of the media through language.

My only question is not "should businesses use 'Merry Christmas' or 'Happy Holidays' in there advertisements?" or "should we ban a nativity scene in front of the town hall?"

People, my only question is: "Why?"

See ya',
Gene
