Rain Furrest - The New Anthrocon in the Pacific Northwest
Hi All
Ok we got a name and now it's time to get to work.
Thanks to the guys of Club Rainbow Tiger we got flyers to AC and between them and Grey we got a lot of good PR. Thanks guys and good work.
I have thought about it and Monika Livingstone is now working on the logo for the con. Also after deductions we will go with a cougar as the mascot. I know it was talked about opening the logo up to all artist, but I have decided to have Monika do it and will be opening up the t-shirt art to all artist.
So all the artist get your minds working on a t-shirt design. Cougar as a mascot and the Rain Furrest theme. All submission need to be in by Jan 01, 2007. Black and white please, any color will be rejected.
Once I get back home I will send out the committee list and what opening there are. But remember just because there is a person in a position that doesn't mean you can't work in that department. There is a committee yahoo list and within couple of days there should be an open yahoo group. When the open list gets up we will notify everyone. I will be handling the Chair and Programming Departments and Trapa will be handling the Vice Chair and Operations side of this con, so if your wanting to help in these area theres who you contact. The Treasure departments being handles by my friend Ari so that's covered.
Meetings will be either north (Seattle) or south(Tacoma) with a few (with Tess permission) might be at Ricks Cafe. The meeting will be on Saturdays. I looked through my calendar for 2006 &2007 and here are the dates I came up with.
2006 - July 22nd - North
August 12 - South
Sept 9th - North
Oct 7th - South
Nov 11th - North
Dec 9th - South
2007 - Jan 6th - North
Fed 10th - South
March 10th - North
April 14th - South
May 12th - North
June 8th - 10th at ConComCon
June 23rd - North

August 24th - 26th is the con
Sept 8th - PostCon Meeting - North
Now these dates are "NOT SET IN STONE", they may change because all the con's haven't announced there 2007 dates and other things. You might not be able to make every meeting and that's ok just keep in contact.

For the artist if you want to you can submit little pieces (black & white please) artwork for the flyers and PR reports. Just send to me and I will see where I can use them. Keep it PG and keeping with the Rain Furrest idea.
We have 2 promotion thing we will be doing. We are hosting at Orycon and Rustycon the " Plushie Costume Contest" and if possible we should have anyone who can to promote be there. Before you look it up MFF is the same weekend as Orycon so the one that aren't going to MFF please come to Orycon and help.
