I'm doing a research project for a course I'm taking called Sexual Violence in Societal Context. I'm focusing on issues of violence against transgender/genderqueer/gender-variant people, and the difficulties that trans people find in getting access to services (counseling, shelter from domestic violence, education about sexuality and sexual violence) as well as transphobia within systems set up to protect women from sexual violence (domestic violence shelters, police/government services, rape crisis centers). I need to find at least 4 academic sources for this project, so if anyone can provide me with information about research that has been done about violence against trans people and/or issues trans people face getting community help/support/protection from violence, that would be greatly appreciated.
