But I'm wondering just HOW common.
I know, basically, that a lot of transpersons base their name for their chosen gender based upon their birthname. Nicole becomes Nicholas, etc etc.
I'm wondering how many of the people on this community have chosen to do something like this, just to entertain my idly curious mind.
As an amusing anecdote, my birth name was GOING to be Michelle, regardless of gender. But it ended up being Brooks, named for my grandmother's husband. A while back, I realized that I'd subconciously or unconciously chosen a name very close to my would-have-been birth name by choosing Mikhaila.
My boy use-name, Danyial, is becoming my girl middle name, Danielle.
So..I'm rambling. Painkillers setting in, yay.
Thanks for playing along!
