There were bad people within the nazis many in leadership and alot of their retoric was evil but the war was fought against the german army. Most german soldiers would not be classified as evil. Had germany won the war most of the world would be reading about the traitorous americans.
By example you should read some british text books about the american revolutionary war. British students are taught things in a far different light then what we are and it depicts some of our founding fathers as evil and dastardly traitors.
While the war was fought against the German army, without the rise of evil men, there would have been no need to take on the Wehrmacht. It truly was a war against evil men, even if we had to kill good men to get at them. And, yes, had Germany won, history would read differently. However, their ability to propagandize does not imply moral equivalence.
Hell, the Japanese don't even teach that their troops attacked Pearl Harbor or committed atrocities in the Far East. Does that mean they might not have?
Most of us only know what we are taught, a few go out and learn more. Reality is shaped by what knowledge you are given and any situation can be made to look good or evil. History is based more on perception then actual fact unfortunately. Facts often get lost in time.
That still doesn't mean that the facts aren't the facts. Whether they're perfectly known or not is another issue. However, my class load has just increased 500-fold, so I'll leave you with this to ponder:
You have a Shiite cookie, a Sunni cookie, a Kurdish cookie, and a Sikh cookie. You can eat one, throw one away, put one in your pocket, and hold one in your hand. What do you do?
Heh, I remember that question from power school. Me thinks you have too much school stress. Pretty hard to rate different ethnic/religious groups the way you would different types of radiation. There is no quantative scientific analysis to base it on therefore is really an invalid question. Morally we would likle it if we could fix the ingredients of all the cookies so we could eat them all. On a realistic note sometimes you have to throw all the cookies away. There is no real right or wrong answers. But I am sure after the fact we will write history to make it seem that way.
