Home from Iowa!

Iowa was lovely; I have a post percolating in my head about Midwestern farm landscape, and about college towns large and small. I am from Vermont, and I'm from Ohio, and both of these are relevant here. My brother's graduation was also very nice (aside from the rather painful poem read by the student speaker, but the whole ceremony also had the advantage of brevity over both mine and Ben's), and the amount of time I got to spend with my family was excellent. I do love all my family, and if I'm glad to not be living under the same roof as all of them that only makes it nicer to see them when I do. Even the amount of time without internet was good, really; it's refreshing to unplug for a few days once in a while, to read a book instead of a friendslist and to see people only face-to-face all day long.

That said: I have a five-day backlog on my friendslist. *grin* I'm going to try to catch up, but we'll see if I succeed, especially since I'm stealing the time to post this from the catching up on two days' vacation from work that I'm also swamped with just now. So if anything's happened since Thursday that I really should know about, point me thataway, please?

And, meanwhile, I hope all of you had weekends at least half as good as mine. :)
