i am glad i remembered this! i love that the dancing girls are wearing spock ears.
aah. last night was quiz night at the three sisters. a girl at our table won a bottle of JD, and the table won the competition! i arrived at about 11.30, as i and four other girls went on a walking tour called city of the dead. it was really hokey and i shouldn't have paid 8.50 to do it, but it was a bit of a laugh. the prize for winning the quiz is a 50 pound (i really need to learn how to make that pound symbol) bar tab! that's a hell of a lot of money, so we all (ten or more) did at least three shots and had a couple drinks. insanity. the girl who won the JD was driving and doesn't even like the stuff, so she let us drink it all. she's from here and said that yesterday was probably about as nice as it ever gets in edinburgh. a little chilly, but i'm hoping it'll be warmer later in the summer.
so far i really love this town. crazy drinking nights aside, everyone is so friendly! i put on my knee-high argyle socks yesterday, not really thinking about the fact that it's a scottish pattern, and that men wear knee-highs with kilts. i got some comments, and one guy even said: "you never see girls wearing those!" he and his friend were off to some party, and as we were walking the same way we chatted for a bit. drunk scottish boys yell a lot.
i'm not surprised that i am hungover. i have gotten into the habit of showering in the afternoon, which is fine for laziness but kind of gross... i feel icky. so! to the shower with me. soon, anyway.
