Just more life updates...

I was going to post about how I'm selling my Toyota Camry, but then I sold it. I had suggested to Uriel that he ask around at church to see if anyone would be interested. That weekend we found a buyer who paid us in cash. They're a neat family with a son who is also an organist and who composes songs. And as trashed out as my Camry was, it drives very well and was maintained quite well, and most importantly (for Florida) the air conditioner works. I think I paid more to have it repaired this year than I sold it for.

The reason why I sold it was because a friend offered to sell me his Honda Accord. I won't give numbers but had I bought it at a dealership I would have paid at least twice if not three times what I am paying for it now. Because of that I let the Camry go for cheap. Spread the good luck around, right?

I also am replacing my Yiynova, which has caused me to run into a frustrating thing that seems to happen when I mention I bought a Cintiq clone. The Yiynova is a freaking 22-inch drawing monitor that cost me about $900. This may seem like a lot, but a 22-inch Cintiq would cost twice that. So I mention it to people who tell me they want a Cintiq but can't afford it, and almost always I just get grumbles about how they'd rather get a Cintiq or how *I* should have saved up for a Cintiq. Yes, the Cintiq is slightly better, but it is also a thousand dollars more. I am happy to have something slightly not as good and save a grand. And whenever I mention this? "You could have just bought a smaller Cintiq instead."

A few years back I started ordering pens from jetpens.com and loved them. I also attempted to explain why I prefer an actual technical pen over micron pigma pens. What did folks say in response? "Ever try pigma pens?" Fnnnfnfnghfngh.

I guess it bothers me because I kind of expected creative people to be a little more flexible?

Megaplex is the local furry con here in Orlando that I consider my 'home' convention. I've had the honor and pleasure of running the dealer's den and have learned a lot about how to do it. And interestingly, running a livestream has helped me in that regard as well. I know how to handle people a little better and how to calmly deal with folks, not to mention how to prevent problems before they happen and things like that.

The Little Tales crew had their yearly gathering there as well and lots of new faces came by this time around. It was delightful. Sales were slightly down from last year, but I also was not able to get as much work done so I can partially blame that. Hopefully next year I won't have as many distractions and will have more energy to get projects done and out.

And this part won't go under a cut. But just as a reminder... Gaming for Kitties is still chugging along, and I found out that we won't conflict with Furloween like I had feared! Woohoo! Relevant info here: http://little-tales.com/kitties/
