I've just noticed it says event at the top of this bit I'm writing in yet I still never write about events.
So, I've become addicted to the Commonwealth Games. All these sporty things just seem kidnap my attention and distract me from doing useful stuff. Wish I was good at running or jumping or something similar. I'd even take curling as a talent were it offered. Curling is cool. Although I really have no idea what I'm doing talking about it because its blatently not in the Commonwealth Games. I think its just distractional techniques leading me to believe that athletics are more important than school work.
Had to work today. Seriously considered phoning in sick. My voice has run off and been replaced by a croak. I thought it would have sounded pretty good on the phone. However, my mum was more a fan of the 'go in and see how it goes' theory and, as usual, her ideas prevailed and I turned up. Once there I forgot the rule that you can never ever leave until your shift is over or you have solid evidence of imminent death. And this rule made doubly important considering 6 people had already phoned in sick (I'm thinking big night last night) and the guy who started work yesterday quit work this morning. So good. I employed the clocking in and standing in the staff room for as long as possible method and thus just about survived. As I just about survive every week. I'm waiting for the time I get sucked into Mac Donalds and stay imprisoned forever. Wait....no, not waiting for the time, more dreading it.
Abnormally hyperactive. Not quite sure why. Actually feeling mank. And tired. But still positive. I think its the sun, being all pretty and shining into the window. It makes all the trees glow with yellowy orange light. Everything looks kind of radient. Mmm.
Well, and just a random thing here, I actually quite like the Handmaid's Tale. Contrary to everyone else. Don't know what else to say about that.
Oh, I wanted to say thankyou to Helen for the barbeque. It was really cool. The food was gorgeous, as was the company. I like it when we can all get together like that and just be happy and contented. Friends. We have to do it more often. Only now Nicola is in Portugal. Lucky her. Mind you, if I had to be stuck in England at any time of this year I would choose now. Now I've said that the weather will hear me and go all mank. Silly silly me.
Anyway, the triple jump final is calling me to watch it. Must see if Jonathan Edwards wins. *crosses fingers*
