So, now that you are onto the THIRD entry including photos of a weekend in Seattle,... I hope you think that I fulfilled my duty being a documentarian of Good Times, and have not totally and completely wasted your time in the process.

I took some scenery shots out the car window on the way to and from Seattle. Its about 600 miles round trip.
The sky was amazing,.. we were driving through rainshields and saw rainbows for a good 40 miles of the trip.

We felt pretty good about the trip, even with all the rain.

Beautiful skies!

I hadn't made the drive during the daytime since the windfields had been erected...
Mmm language is grand, ain't it?

I think this is outside Ellensburg... a really crappy college town smack dab in the middle of the desert in the middle of the state.

The desert IS beautiful at the right times though...

Beth and Andrew stayed at the Marco Polo a remnant from the 50s, which was the cheapest motel in town and apparently had a reputation for being a place to take hookers and freebase cocaine... said an online review. It was actually WAY nicer in places I've stayed before... although I dont know if that says something about The Marco Polo... or about me.

Walking home after the Zombie Walk, we caught this view of Downtown Seattle at sunset.

Terrible picture of an amazing view.

July 4th was International Beer Festival day! Proof Seattle is just my sort of town, with a few exceptions (mainly the need to parallel park)
Ryan spent July 3rd and 4th at The Wooden Boat Show over on Lake Union, but helped me get to the Beer Fest and gave me a map of the area.
I didn't have a cell phone the entire time I was there, but I was staying with two friends and had two other friends with me..and I was sorta the hub.. without a phone.
I was sorta tied to people's hips so I wouldn't get too lost. The plan was to use the map to find the Beer Festival (which Andrew and Beth were already at) and use the map to find payphones to call them if I couldn't find them.

I found the International Beer Festival right away, nearly at the foot at the Space Needle... I paid to get in, got a random beer and walked around,... it was probably 1,000 people in a small meadow green... so I went hunting for one of the MANY pay phones in the area located on the map.

I found a change station first, got $5 in quarters weighing down my pockets, its gotten sunny and hot and Im in a sweater and apparently NO PAY PHONES WORK ANYWHERE ANYMORE!

It wasn't until the 5th public pay phone that I found one that WORKED... although the "2" button was not really working and it didnt accept cash, ONLY credit cards and calling cards.. and mentioned that "extra fees may apply" to such transactions.

I kept my good humor by taking pictures of the amazing scenery! The Pacific Center in Seattle is just a really amazing area... Id visited the Space needle a couple times, and the Pacific Science Museum,.. and gazed at the SciFi-Fantasy and Music Experience building... but, I hadn't really visited the area to just look around (or look for a payphone)

Obligatory proof I was in Seattle.. and upskirt shot of the Space Needle.

It was sunny, partly overcast when I was looking for the payphone, but in true Seattle fashion it turned drizzly later.

Giant public fountain and splash area in front of Key Arena

Abraham Lincoln on the Independence Day.... talking on a cell phone drinking an Orange Julius.
God Bless America!
(I should have asked him if he would let a patriot borrow his cell phone)

Eventually I found the half-working and super-expensive payphone, got ahold of my friends and went to meet them at the Beer Festival.
We found eachother quickly and found that while I was on my adventure, they had drank most of their tickets away...
I however, still had 8 drinks left to quaff so I bounced between beer-stands, pretzel stands and Beth/Andrew hiding under a tree for protection from the drizzle... and tried many really good beers... a couple not-my-style beers and was pleasantly buzzed when it came time to use the bus system to get to Zack, and leave Andrew and Beth to their romantic evening together. These are large sculptures we could see from the beer green. I think its the backyard of the Pacific Science Museum.. but Im not sure.

I was scared of getting lost... while drunk.. in someone else's city.
Luckily, interrogated one bus driver into explaining the entire bus system in Seattle... before I would enter or magic trolleycar.
She was super helpful and got me to a connector.. where I saw two guys sitting awkwardly on a three person bench, trying not to touch thighs which would make them gay.. because American guys are silly.
I plopped my pert ass between them, said something about "breaking up" their "sausage fest" and came to find out they were getting off at my stop. We shared good conversation and they helped me not be me.... which is USUALLY getting off a bus randomly just because I feel "its been long enough".

Walking to the bar where I was meeting Zack, I saw my new house of Wo'Ship.

I drank a couple more beers and tried my inexpert hand at Shuffleboard with Zack and some of his cronies.
Made friends with a Marine downstairs with inappropriate jokes about the U.S. military and the sexual slavery of women in South Pacific nations...
I'm all class.

The Beer Fest lets you get pretty buzzed... but it would be expensive to get drunk.
A couple more beers at the pub helped, though.

Sadly, it meant that I missed the fireworks at Gasworks Park.... Ryan saved us spots near the waterside and everything! He took lots of pictures and video of the fireworks show.. it was really an amazing one! Wow!
Later though, when we were feeling less drunk and more safe around fire... Zack and I played with sparklers dated from 1986.
We had fun!

The next day was Monday.. time to leave. I watched "Real Genius" for the first time ever, and it affirmed my theory about Keanu Reeves being the bizarro version of Val Kilmer. If you ask, I can explain. My theory has more evidence than you may imagine!

Lastly, this was the windfarm on the way home... wow!
