I was a teenaged zombie...

It was Zack that mentioned The Zombie Walk to me,..
I think I said, "Yes" even though no one had asked me to come.
After weeks of ever-changing plans... it was Andrew driving Beth and Me over to Seattle, and they would stay in a cheap motel and I would stay with friends.

July 3rd was a Saturday morning.. we met up and ate breakfast, parked at Beth/Andrew's motel which was only mile or so walk from the Freemont Outdoor Theater, where we were under the suspicion the whole shebang took place at.

Zack was ZomBro... the "bro" being the new incarnation of the FratBoy if you aren't "hep" to the "slang".

Andrew and Beth were a Corpse Bride/Groom... very awesome! They had their photos taken A LOT!

I did Andrew's makeup and Beth's hair.
I LOVE that photo of Beth! How can someone be so naturally graceful? I snapped that while she was fixing her skirt.

Sanitary White motel bathroom obligatory myspace mirror pic... dead girl style.
I was proud of my makeup.. untill it melted all off!

I kept asking everyone to stop in pretty places and take more pictures.
They refused and kept walking.
Smarter than the average Zombie, these folks were!

They call it "Zombie Sex Panther".

I will say this... don't ask me what I was. I was a recently dead zombie... in my Alice In Wonderland Meets Lizzie Borden halloween costume.. with more blood.
The lady at the gate said snidely to herself while counting my ticket and putting on my entrance bracelet, "What are you? O, a dutch zombie? A little dutchboy... thing? O, I guess.. little dead dutch thing.." and dismissed me. Aww.... she was unimpressed. Well... if you see my photojournal of just SOME of the other zombies there, no wonder! I sucked compared to the good ones! I was a joke next to the REALLY good ones! Now I know! The website said no weapons or anything that resembled a weapon.. so I left my cleaver at home.. other people brought theirs.. I should have too!

Online I found a picture of a zombie cook with salad tongs their their head. AWESOME.

Anyways...
The zombie walk itself, we didn't take any pictures. We were In Character, damnit! I growled a lot and inquired as to "BRRAAAINS?".
After awhile I got into it and began asking people directly if I could eat their brains and then storming off, 'NO BRAINS ANYWHERE!!!'
This included doing this to cops. I mentioned they smelled more like bacon than brains... I did this loudly.. as they were passing.
I ate a few people's heads. I did.
I asked parents if I could eat their children. I tried to convince them it would be ok.
"They are just young! You won't miss them! Im so HUNGRY!" all in growly voice.

Andrew was quieter... with a limp... he was helpful and polite... and only shouted for brains when he got really worked up.

Some, in Seattle, were prepared for the Zombie Hoard that was going to take over the neighborhood. Zombiehunters.net/com got groups of people out to battle the Zombies on the streets and protect the city from their cannibalistic ways! They jumped from trees and came at us with plastic swords and nerf weaponary, defend the citizenry and ensuring the safety of the Un-UnDead everywhere. There was pro-zombie signage like, 'I love my Zombie son' and "Zombie Not Narrow" and "Zombies are people too".

We stayed in character, shuffling down the street afterward... and found a really lovely Greek restaurant that Beth and Zack both recommended...we were worried if they were too fancy to let us in in our... ahem... attire. A little young zombie girl was sitting in a booth and I attacked her through the window... and later, when we sat down, her and her mom came to attack me at our seats. We ate REALLY well.

Finally we are sated! Our bloodlust ebbs.

Smoking kills.

It was a jaunt to the Event, hours and hours of standing, then the walk itself was a mile or more... then we walked to dinner and walked home.
We were sorta cranky by the time we walked back to the motel at sunset.

We all stopped to take a picture of downtown Seattle from that bridge over Aurora... the glass buildings were bright orange from the sunset.
