SPOKANE, Wash. - Spokane firefighters rescued a man who had been stuck in a water meter enclosure head-first for more than four hours.
Firefighters say the man was working near the hole on the 4100 S. Madelia Street, but fell in head-first and could not get out. A postal carrier passing by the area spotted him and called 911 for help. A rescue team set up a tripod to help pull the man out, and an ambulance took him to a local hospital for a more thorough evaluation.
A fire department spokesperson said the man was reportedly in good condition. He was conscious, breathing and talking as rescuers pulled him out of the hole.
WOW. That is beautiful.
