maybe you could budget for a real alarm clock? alarm clocks of today's society have nearly all the bugs of the older "wind up" models worked out. it's probably a major component to "adulthood".
My phone alarm clock hasn't done its job the last couple times either. Maybe we should get a new alarm clock.. my bedside clock has two alarms, but it has its own problems.
My phone works best.. because I am attuned to the fact that it only rings for 20 seconds and then TURNS ITSELF OFF TO NEVER RING AGAIN... so as soon as its shrill loudness occurs,.. I am jumping for that phone to snooze it before it turns off and ruins my life.
I also have a cd playing alarm clock, and two digital alarms.. maybe if we combine our alarm clock menagerie (As in, place all five around the room to start going off every 15 seconds in a cascade of loudmaking, culminating in both of our cell phones going off at the same time while taped to our heads) we can get up like normal people at normal times.
