You should see my work station in my box at work. I get dual monitors,
widescreen. I'm currently running 4 programs on my right screen, and my
left is where I've remoted in to test for programming.
Listening/watching a movie. Chatting with a co-worker. Keeping track of my
work email. Making notes of what I've tested for Programming.
If I was at home I'd also have a load of laundry going and the dishwasher
is probably done cleaning, so I'd unload that soon and possibly do a
self-clean on the oven. It's been a year since we bought it, it's time to
clean it.
There is still no word from our client as to when we can expect more work.
There is a new rumor going around that a potential client has finally
signed a contract which should bring work to our department, but again,
it's a rumor, so I'm uncertain if/when it will affect our team.
The head of HR was out of the office yesterday, so still no word on the job
I've applied for.
I finally sent notice to HR that my request for 2 weeks PTO in May still
hasn't been addressed by my manager. This is something that HR will discuss
today and get back to me about. I sent an email on 12/26/2012 requesting
time off, and a reminder email on 1/14/2013, as of right now I still
haven't heard anything from my manager about it. Fun times in crazy town. ;)
I'm feeling ok about things though. It will be what it will be.
This is a year of change. I am working on focusing on the positive. I'm
working on doing what I need to do to help those around me.
Beltania is a huge deal and our spiritual group, NCCR (
http://CovenantOfTheRiver.org) plays a huge role in the event (
http://Beltania.org).
Jordan and I run the sweat lodge, which we build anew every year. There is
the lovely endeavor of getting the blankets for the lodge to the site. (We
live 3 hours from the site.)
We are also part of the Pan Ritual, which has become a tradition for
Beltania and the opening night ritual of the event welcoming Pan and his
nymphs and all the other wee folk, sprites and such. The costumes for the
Nymphs are being re-designed this year and I need to get cracking on that.
Plus I need to make Pan's costume as well.
When I stop to think about all that needs to be done before May I get a bit
overwhelmed and I want to crawl into my little hole and hope it all figures
itself out without me. This, I know, is a bad way of thinking. So lists I
will make. And then I will tackle them one at a time.
On top of that we are taking the girls with us to Beltania this year, so I
need to make sure that we plan well enough ahead to have enough food and
get day bags made for the girls, as those worked out well for them the last
time they came to Beltania.
And I need to make a ton of cookies! They were a huge hit last year and
helped give that energy people needed when things got rough, so I'm
planning on making more than last year.
Ok, back to work with me.
