My oh-so-interesting day

So today I did my first groom dog all by myself. Of course, I got the second worst-behaved one of the lot. And, not surprisingly, it was a spoiled bratty-ass poodle. But I learned all sorts of things involving poodle cuts and according to my teacher and the other various groomers I have an amazing (if previously unknown) skill in scissor work. And not to brag or anything, but despite his being a pain, he turned out looking damn good. I even got a tip for him. ^.^ It really isn't nearly so hard as it looked when I watched the groomers at my home store. I've also learned some neat techniques on making bows, too. Not nearly so important, but it's fun to see what other people in other stores can do that the people you work with consistently cannot do.

Tomorrow I get to do a bishon. Which, isn't all that exciting. Bishons are basically shorter-legged, white poodles. They have the same craptastic hair and demeanor. But that's why I'm in this academy, so I can learn how to work with it. They were laughing at me, because I hate poodles and the dogs akin to poodles, but with my scissoring, I'm probably going to get a bunch of them. >.> Ah well. Poodles are a pretty good money maker so it all works out. I felt so sorry for one of my classmates though, she had a really annoying cocker (the first worst dog today) that was constantly wiggling around and jumping up and trying to hump her. >.< it was kinda funny until she cut the poor thing's paw pad. Completely by accident, since he was so ill behaved, so we didn't blame her at all given the situation. But she still was all torn up about it and crying. Those things happen though. Well, thats all I can think of to talk about at the moment.... hmn.
