1,000 miles of summer

Sep 15, 2010 10:50

Well, like I said, my goal was 1,000 miles for this summer. The first day of fall is quickly approaching. In 8 days, to be exact. I knew I'd have to ramp it up to make it happen. I woke up this morning at 7:15 to go out for a ride. Yeah. 7:15. I usually get up at 8:30.

I set out for my ride at 7:30.

(you like my fancy new light? It's huge. And super bright.)

I was flying. I rode south from riverscape and was going 16-19 mph at all times. It was great. I felt great.

I saw this at the river... kind of odd lol

They're moving all this dirt around in the river.

Anyway, so I got about 5 1/2 miles and decided to turn back because it was 8:00 and I wanted to be back at 8:30.

Oh.my.god.
It was SO BAD. I realized I'd been going to so fast because I'd been riding with the wind behind me. Now I was riding into the wind. I couldn't go faster than 12mph! And I was struggling for that! Gosh it was awful. The sun was in my eyes and I forgot my sunglasses.
It was just... really rough.

I got home by 8:30 though and jumped in the shower. I chowed down some oatmeal and got ready for work. It was kind of nice to already be up and awake and around. Not that I'd do it everyday lol.

So, like I said, Brian talked me into opening his gifts last night!
Here's that picture I made for him all hung on the wall. :)

He loved everything of course. The picture looks super cute. You see it when you leave our apartment.
