I'm having a fantastic week!!!!!!!!!!!!

On Wednesday, I basically baked all day. I had a blast. My Wilton performance pans were amazing. All of my cakes baked up perfectly! Everything rose just right, everything baked just right, everything popped out of the pans just right. Every thing was just freaking perfect. Even my 16"x16" cakes came out fantastically with barely any trimming required!!!!
I only had to make one extra run to the store because I ran out of fondant and needed to still cover the anniversary tier.

I knew this cake was going to be epic... but I don't think I really realized HOW epic until I put the bottom tier together and started to ice it...
I'd like to clarify that this mixing bowl is HUGE... so yeah... this thing was 16"x16" and almost 5" tall. It weighed like 30lbs, I could barely lift it. It took 4lbs of buttercream just to fill and crumb coat it. Insanity.

The cakes came together beautifully. I couldn't have asked for it to go more smoothly. I put all the dowels in place, I stacked them up and stepped back and thought wow... I just made a wedding cake. I made each tier so I could carry them individually. I made a little box for the anniversary tier. Too cute. I bought a box, but it was crap. So I made a better one.

Getting the cake TO the wedding sort of sucked.I had to carry it all to the car myself. I pulled the car around back and carried the bottom tier down first. I lined the car seats with all of our pillows from the bed lol. Then I went back for the top two tiers. I ended up stacking them on top of each other and carrying them. It doesn't sound that hard, but I live on the 4th floor and even in the elevator, it took me 20 minutes to get the car up and get it loaded. Let's not forget it was insanely hot through all of this and I was sweating like a crazy person. The drive was perfect, no issues. A little trouble finding the building, but once I got there some guys helped me carry the monster into the reception room. I dropped all the tiers on top of each other and they gave me the flowers to place. It came together just magically.

Then I got to run back home, shower and dress and be back in time for the wedding.

I got the cutest little all pink outfit for the wedding, complete with pink shoes!

The wedding was a Carillon Park and the bell tower was awesome.

The got married right at the base of the tower.

It was very windy. We were fighting off the rain which came RIGHT after the ceremony was over.
We got inside and I'll tell you what, I was so proud of myself for making this cake.

The wedding was fabulous. Jess looked so pretty and she was the most chill, hilarious, fun bride ever.

The food was great, the crowd was fun. I made friends with some new people... OH! annnd...

The photo booth was the best thing that ever happened to me.

cake, fun, wedding, friends, summer
