summer nights
Tonight we had Karen and Justin over for dinner. It was such a good time. I think it's possible the only time Karen and I have ever hung out just us was when her and I went to Lexington to see Chelsea. Tonight was so nice. Brian and I made brochette, garlic bread, salad with a home made balsamic vinaigrette, 3 cheese tortolleni with pesto, baby spinach and sun dried tomatoes.
Then we drank.
Brian and Justin drank bourbon and tequila and beers and Karen and I dank vodka crans and hard ciders.
They played video games and we sit out on the balcony that connects my building to the next and just talked and talked and talked and smoked cloves and drank our ciders.
Eddy spent all of his time trying to hump the shit our of Karen's legs, arms... head... and Gibson basically slept the entire time. It was actually really cute. I put that blanket in the hallway and he just decided it was the best thing I'd ever done for him.
Anyhow, Karen and I sat outside and spilled our guts all autobiography with each other, which I realize we've not done with each other before. It was nice to just sit and really talk with someone for a while. I feel like I hardly ever have time to do that anymore.
I really love having people over for dinner. Brian and I are just at our best cooking together and hosting dinners lol. We were chopping tomatoes in the kitchen before they came over and we were just dancing around to jazz and kissing and having so much fun. I love him so much. And that's why I love having people over. We just love to make and serve food. And it's great when people really like our food. It makes us feel really good.
I'm so glad Karen liked my drinks I made and I'm glad they liked the food.
Now I'm buzzed and I'm watching comedy central stand up and I'm cracking up between babbling to Brian about what a great time I had tonight and blogging about it all.
