First cake
Maybe I shouldn't have made my first cake the DAY I started my period. HAH.
It was a roller coaster for sure.
First my cake leveler wasn't working right for me... Well... I wasn't using it right. BOO. I was mad. Then I got my crumb frosting done perfectly. It looked just like in the books and on tv. I was happy. Yaay. Then my buttercream was setting up faster than I could smooth it because the fan was on in the living room. ARG. Then I ran out of frosting and didn't have any to color or decorate. I got mad. Then I decided to make some more from scratch. It came out really well. Yaay. I piped the top and it looked pretty alright and then I wanted to write something... did that and added some dots and shit. I was happy with the final product. The buttercream wasn't as smooth as I wanted it to be, but I was able to distract from it a bit with the pink stuff I piped on.
My florals came out well and I was happy with them.
I don't think it's bad for my first decorative cake ever.
Considering I've never used gum paste, never used smooth butter cream, never used a piping bag, never used a cake leveler, never done a crumb frosting and never put florals on a cake.
Good thing I'm taking it slow hahaha. If I would have tried something harder, I probably would have cried.
Now the hardest part... Brian... wants to EAT my creation hahaha. Aw. It's like asking me to eat my first born!
