Fiction Drabbles

I'm going back to school next semester. I'm 15 credits away from a B.A. in English, and it seemed a little silly to be this far in debt (so very, very, very in debt) without even a piece of paper to show for it. I'll be taking two sit-down classes, one online class, and two directed study courses. All but one are retakes--which gives you an idea of ( Read more... )

While I was initially bemused but dubious, five minutes or so of research turns up that Tad is married to a Deborah and the date of birth listed on that Livejournal account matches up with hers, and then onto Twitter... so well, what can I say.

I first picked up a copy of The Dragonbone Chair, uh, around age 10 or 11 (so 14-15 years ago?) and started using 'geloe' as a handle on the Internet since not long after that (and have, in one form or another, ever since). Absurdly, that big, hulking trilogy is something of a comfort read nowadays. After Margaret Weis & Tracy Hickman introduced me to the fantasy genre, MS&T abruptly graduated me to "adult" fantasy and to grown-up books in general.

I find it just--bizarrely delightful to have my Livejournal targeted for advertisement.

I'll pass on the offer. I read the first book of Shadowmarch then was frankly put off by the fact that the sequel was released from hardback immediately to large paperback (and I had to wait so long for the publisher to release it in paperback-sized paperback). I own it now, but I haven't gotten back to the series (and won't for a while, given that I'm currently juggling a 32 hour workweek and 15 credits worth of English courses), but... I will. But probably not until the third novel is released, anyway.

I just wanted to say, if you guys take the chance to look at any of the messages you get as responses... thanks.

OH, hey, it's me who needs to thank you... I'm advertising on your page!! Sorry the formats didn't work for you. I'm not responsible, since I don't publish Tad (any more), but I get where the publishers are coming from... trying to sustain some income in these rotten times... I don't mean to defend it, just say, thank you for the feedback. You are working hard, I can see that. I wish you the best with your dreams and future... Deborah
