Today we all went to the Aquarium - Tropicarium Oceanarium, the biggest Aqua-zoo in Central Europe. Later Patrick and I climbed up the Citadel Hill. We took the tram to Moricz Zsigmond Korter and got Bus 3 to Tropicarium. It’s in a shopping centre by a Tesco’s.
The first room in side tropicarium has fish found in Hungary's Rivers and lakes. Then there is a room with marmosets and birds flying free and Snakes and Lizards in large tanks. The Next room has 3 Mississippi Alligators in a pool below the walk way and two sloth's in the trees. Again there are more birds flying around. Up on the walk way to the left is a room with Insets and Lizards in small tanks. they have Leopard Gecko’s that look like Timed.
Plus, different types of Scorpions and Lot’s of poisonous Frogs, in all different colours. Then you back down though the Alligator room and out the right door to the Tropical River fish room. From there you go to the Saltwater Fish. There where these beautiful blue and yellow swirl fish in one tank, in another where fish that glowed in the dark. There is a tank with Moray Eels, really big ones. Then you get to walk under a big pool with loads of Sharks in. In the last room is an open tank with Rays in, that you can touch.
After Tropicarium we looked around the shopping centre.
We all got the Number 3 bus back to Moricz Zsigmond Koter and Walked to the Erzebet Hid (Elisabeth Bridge). Mum went back to the Hotel, Patrick and I climbed the hill to the Citadel. The steps brought us up to the Liberation Statue. Past the Church carved in to the rock, like a cave, that was the home of the Paulite monks, until the Turks killed them all. The views are good, from the top of the hill. The tour buses drive you to the top of the hill and let you walk down which is more sensible as the steps we went up were steep, but not busy. You have to pay to go in the Citadel, so we didn’t, it’s mostly a hotel anyway. The Turks built the Citadel as it was a higher point than the castle. We walk down the path facing the castle. We came to a spring head that leads to a waterfall. Then down another path we found the statue of St. Gellert, with it’s column arc behind it. Patrick and I walked back to the hotel over the Erzebet Bridge.
