--------
“I found out that Ryeowook’s mom and Kyuhyun’s mom were close friends so I was able to ask questions,” He started. “They didn’t mind,”

Sungmin immediately snatched the notebook from Kibum and read everything, as much as he could.

Children: 2 (1 adopted). His heart almost sank.

Adopted? He thought, the word kept repeating on his mind. Adopted…?

“Hey!” Kibum yells, finally snapping Sungmin back to their world from his deep thoughts.

“S-sorry,” Sungmin faked a smile.

“Are you alright? You seem to space out a lot,”

“Yeah, I’m fine, I think it’s because of the flu, I’m still kinda weak right now,”

“Was I able to get everything you needed?” He asks, looking at the notebook.

“Much, much,” Sungmin says, reading even more. “Baekje Hospital?”

“Oh, that’s where Kyuhyun’s mom gave birth to him,” Kibum answers.

Does this mean…I’m adopted? Wait, I don’t have any memories of being an orphan. “I want to go there,” He tells Kibum and the younger wasn’t shocked at all.

“I knew it,” Kibum says, smiling. “Are you sure?”

“I want to make sure…who’s the adopted one at least,”

“I can help you, do you have the time?”

“I’ll try…”

“Don’t you need to tell this to Kyuhyun shii over there?”

“Why do you have so many questions? And why do I have to tell him?” He says at the same time spotting Kyuhyun behind them.

“Sungmin?” Hearing his voice, he quickly hid the notebook behind him as he looked up with Kibum turning around and found Kyuhyun standing behind them, confused but calm. “Kibum?!” He exclaimed, seeing Kibum with me. Ofcourse he’ll be shocked seeing me, me, not Sungson with Kibum. “What are you-“

“Relax, it’s not like I’m gonna make an article out of this,” Kibum says, smirking.

“Oh really?”

“No,” Kibum repeats again. “Besides, I’m leaving in a week,”

“Whoo, finally,” He says, sarcastically.

“Kyuhyun!” Sungmin interrupts, warning Kyuhyun of his rudeness.

“What? You want to go with him?” He asks, obviously exasperated and pissed that Sungmin could feel the tension and pressure that Kyuhyun’s giving off.

“Wh-what? Why are you being like this?”

“You can go with him if you want, it’s not like I care, just pay your debt then-“

Slap!

Kyuhyun remained wide-eyed as he was able to regain balance from the force of Sungmin’s slap on his cheek while Kibum was in shock. “Sometimes…you’re just so selfish…” Sungmin says, completely angered by Kyuhyun’s selfish words.

“Sungmin-“ He calls out, realizing his mistake, that he’s gone too far. They were like this before, normally Sungmin would argue back and they’d start another mini World War against each other, but this time was different. He doesn’t understand why, he didn’t even realize when this started.

“Know what? I’m tired of arguing with you. I’m tired of trying to blend in with everyone. I’m tired of being weak like this. I’m tired of being your fiancée, being the person you act out to be deeply in love with. I’m gonna find a way to be able to escape from this, to end this deal because I don’t want it anymore!”

He wishes it will go as planned as he said those words.

He didn’t know where those came from but he believed Sungmin nonetheless. Kibum stayed there, as if he was just a rock watching as Sungmin ran passed Kyuhyun, bowing his head as if hiding his tears at the same time letting them fall from his delicate eyes. Whatever had made this go as far is this, is definitely Kyuhyun’s fault.

“I can’t believe I’m spending my last week here…full of drama,” Kibum murmured but Kyuhyun could hear it all clearly, very clearly, but he decided to ignore it and follow Sungmin.

Not now. Now that he was coming to an end of all his questions. Now that he could’ve made a better conclusion about his strange acts that only he knew himself. Not now, when he will be able to admit that he’s been in love with a stupid kitten the entire time. That made him dumb. Never once in his life was he, but now, he calls himself dumb.

He wanted to reach those arms so much that his pace grew faster, like he was walking but he wanted to run. So close yet so far. Such big distance and he wanted it to disappear, thus making it possible for him to hold on to Sungmin’s arm and pull him, strong enough to turn him around, forcing Sungmin to look at him.

He couldn’t see him. He was bowing his head, trying to hide his face from him. “Sungmin,” He called out but Sungmin didn’t lift his head up to look at him.

“What?”

“I know what I said was wrong,”

“No, you were right, who are you to even care.”

“I meant it as a joke!” Kyuhyun yells in his own defense. He did, he didn’t mean it after all, but his statement was completely useless. Even he knows that.

“It’s the truth, this,” Sungmin then looks up at him and threw opened his arms. “This is the joke, everything is. I’m not Sungson, I’m not your fiancée, and I wasn’t even supposed to be here!” Sungmin yells, scaring Kyuhyun a bit just by looking at him with his delicate eyes, which are now furious over him even with the blur of tears.

“What are you trying to say?”

“If you don’t care about me, I don’t either!” He yells for the last time, a bit louder this time around and immediately pushed himself inside the guest room beside them, slamming the door hard and locking it. Kyuhyun was left there, shocked as he is, unknown to the fact at how many burdens Sungmin still carries now.

Dumb.

He decided to go back outside, thinking per step if he should cancel the soiree or not, but even though he knew his heart wanted to, his mind tells him he shouldn’t. So he didn’t.

Night came. Ryeowook still amazed him at how many dishes he can make in a short time and he goes back to asking himself why his best friend didn’t take culinary instead of music but he’s out of that. Then here comes Yesung. He doesn’t really understand why he had to stay until the party, but noticing how properly dressed and how his eyes were fixed to the investors, he knew why.

He was dressed clean and formally himself. He actually managed to without his maids. A plain white polo covered with a black tuxedo matched with his eyeglasses made him looking smarter than usual.  Although he was quite surprised when Sungmin showed up, wearing a blue cocktail dress, he understood why.

“You don’t have to do this,” he whispers to Sungmin when he had the chance to corner him at the hallway, in the middle of the soiree outside because he had been avoiding him since what happened.

“Don’t lie,” Sungmin said in his defense. “Of course I have to do this,” He adds, looking at Kyuhyun seriously and the younger realizes that he was right, that Sungmin had to do this.  “Am I right?”

He didn’t answer, instead he let Sungmin slip away from him and the next thing he realizes, he was staring at a blank white wall.  “If I wasn’t your best friend, I wouldn’t bother but since I am, I’m going to ask,” Ryeowook says, startling Kyuhyun as he leans on the wall. “What happened?” He asks.

“It’s nothing…really-“

“Hey, as my best friend, you should answer my question honestly!”

Kyuhyun sighs. “I don’t know…” He breathed as he turned around and leaned beside Ryeowook.

“What do you mean you don’t know? Did you two argue? I mean like…argue…like-“ Ryeowook scratches his hair.

“I know what you mean Wookie,” Kyuhyun chuckled. “Shocking?”

“Not really since you two always argue with each other. I guess you just hurt his feelings or you’ve gone too far,” He frowns.

“Come to think of it, we never really did argue, right?”

“Don’t you dare change the subject!” Ryeowook yells. “I know you, sad to say,”

“I know how much you know me so I won’t tell you,” He turns to Ryeowook, smirking. “You’re gonna find out sooner or later anyway, I never really had the chance to keep secrets from you…unfortunately,”

“I’m good right?” Ryeowook says, sounding proud of himself all these years.

“Yeah, I get to suffer,”

“Oh please. You needed someone who, as you told me years ago, spies you, because you always keep secrets,” Ryeowook says, remembering those times. “So, you’re actually lucky,”

“Don’t even…”

“Even what?” The older asked, grinning.

“Nevermind…” Kyuhyun replies, glaring. Ryeowook then hopped in front of him and, much to Kyuhyun’s shock, stood up on the tips of his toes and started pinching his cheeks. “Aw-what the hell-“ He tried to get his cheeks away by trying to shove Ryeowook away, but his best friend was stronger than he thought. And he couldn’t help but laugh with Ryeowook who was obviously enjoying himself.  “Damn you,” And he started pinching Ryeowook’s cheeks, like he went back to being a kid, not a CEO, but a kid.

“Awh! Kyu!” Ryeowook whines, but with Kyuhyun pinching his cheeks back, he just got determined to not let go of Kyuhyun’s cheeks. He giggles and Kyuhyun gave up as he curled down laughing, holding his stomach.

“Wh…What the hell is wrong with you?” Kyuhyun asks, laughing hard and trying to breathe.

“Who knew pinching cheeks will crack you up,” Ryeowook says, sitting down on the floor where Kyuhyun was curling up.

“Seriously, you are so ridiculous,” Kyuhyun says, breathing slowly.

“I wonder if kissi-“

“Oh shut up,”

“I wasn’t even finished yet!”

“I would rather not hear you finish,”

“Oh look at you, what are you doing lying on the floor,” the older says while taking out a camera. “Wearing a tuxedo, matched with glasses,” And he focused on Kyuhyun.

Click!

“Keepsakes,” He announces, with a peace sign, and Kyuhyun immediately sat up which made him stand up first and run away, laughing like a child, declaring his victory.

“COME BACK HERE WOOKIE AND GIVE ME THAT CAMERA RIGHT NOW!” Kyuhyun yells as he chased Ryeowook, realizing the reason why Ryeowook would suddenly pinch his cheeks, when he knows he knew that something like that would crack him up and he would end up lying on the floor…looking ridiculously with a tuxedo.

He knows it isn’t appropriate but he missed the times when he used to play like this, and when he said he knows it isn’t appropriate, he shouldn’t have started chasing Ryeowook in the first place, because what he ends up at isn’t the nicest thing ever.

I wish to die right now, kthxbai. He thought when he saw Sungmin in front of him, still with his cocktail dress, inside the guest room, with the door locked just a few minutes ago, with obviously none other than Ryeowook.

Sungmin stared at him. He stared at Sungmin. He opened his mouth to talk but the sudden throw of a pillow unto his face prevented him to do so. But he just stood there and then he opened his mouth again and then another pillow flew and landed on his face. He tried again and another pillow was sent out flying and he decided to catch it and fling it to the side. “STOP THROWING PILLOWS AT ME!” He yells, getting annoyed.

“Then get out of my sight!” Sungmin yells back, ready to throw another pillow.

Kyuhyun sighs. “Guess it’s no use if I blame Wookie,”

“Exactly,”

There was a dead silence in the air. Okay great, there’s a soiree outside, and Kyuhyun is in here. Oh wait. Yesung. He sighs again. It won’t be a problem if he’s there right? Yeah it won’t be. He nods, convincing himself that Yesung will be able to save him.

Sungmin sat on the bed, staring at his toes as he plays with his stilettos. Kyuhyun hated how much this was distracting him, not to mention, eating his insides of boredom. This isn’t going anywhere, he knew that. “Sungmin,”

“What?” Sungmin responds, not even looking at him.

“I know I’ve been saying this over and over again, but…I’m really sorry. I really meant it as a joke and I didn’t think you would take it seriously because we’ve always been arguing and none of it was taken too seriously. And stop playing with your stilettos,” He tells him and Sungmin listens…and he stopped playing with the stilettos.

“Kyuhyun, seriously, you don’t have to apologize,”

“But I am,”

“Who cares anyway, this was just all an act. We could act as if we are friends and stuff, and none of it even matters in the first place anyway,”

“We’ve been together for almost a year now; you don’t really think I was acting all the time,”

Almost a year. That phrase ran through Sungmin’s mind. He hadn’t noticed how long it was. “Who knows…”

“Sungmin,”

“I don’t care…” Sungmin bowed his head, and he bit his lip, hoping to ease from crying and blames himself for being so emotionally weak that he might end up bursting out crying in front of Kyuhyun.

Kyuhyun approached him; the little creaks that his shoes produced made Sungmin restless by the moment. Now isn’t really the right time to come closer, no, it isn’t. He already fell for him, he knows that, he knows that very well but somehow, all his attempted plans aren’t working.

Why isn’t Kyuhyun ignoring me? Why isn’t he getting mad at me? He’s supposed to be yelling at me now, scolding me, or insulting me or anything…why? He asked himself. It was supposed to be like that…so I can leave without hurting him. He should get mad at me…why aren’t you getting mad at me?

Kyuhyun then reached his hand over Sungmin’s head and rustled his hair. Sungmin was startled but he didn’t move one bit. He tried so hard…now he feels like giving up. “You really don’t care?” Kyuhyun asked him and Sungmin remember what he said earlier. He nods his head.

Kyuhyun slid his hand down to his chin and he lifted it up for him to see. “Then why are you crying?”

He was, he hadn’t noticed himself. Kyuhyun gently wiped the tears with his thumb but it made Sungmin tear more; he couldn’t help it, not like this where he can see Kyuhyun clearly, in front of his eyes, with the tears blurring his vision. It was painful; he never realized that until now.

Leaving his warm hands, the hands that treated his wounds, his dark orb eyes, the eyes that always looked at him, his broad body, the body that always caught him every time…Cho Kyuhyun. This Cho Kyuhyun that made him experience need, made him feel friendship, made him find love.

Kyuhyun didn’t mind it; he didn’t mind how Sungmin was just looking at him like that, with his eyes blurred of the tears as it kept falling. He hated how Sungmin was right in front of him, crying, and he couldn’t do anything because he knew very well he‘s the reason why. “I’m sorry…” His eyes were kept wide when Sungmin spoke, he finally spoke.

He smiles at him.

He just looked at him.

He pushed him to the bed.

He felt weak as he fell on the bed.

He leaned closer to him.

He was trapped in his arms.

He kissed him.

He let him kiss him.

He didn’t mind it.

It was wrong, they were brothers.

He continued to explore him.

He hated the pleasure he felt.

He whispered to him.

His tears continued to fall.
