Obligatory Star Wars flail post.

Oct 21, 2015 20:28

Originally, I'd wanted to post something about the new TFA trailer last night but then I realized I didn't have a Star Wars icon and ended up spending 2 1/2 hours on looking for fitting pictures and fiddling with image resizing and textures and stuff and then it was 0300 and I decided that it was about time to go to bed after all.

Just me and a couple thoughts on the trailer. Yes, THAT trailer. )

fandom: star wars, obsession of the week, crazy hazy hue, big pile of squee, fannish stuff, plot bunnies

Um, where to start??

I've seen it about 30 times now. Yes, I'm crazy like that. Blame it on a horrible week at work. I needed something other than annoyed colleagues babbling into my ears or the ringing of the phone in my head.

Anyway, I loved the trailer despite the lack of information about the storyline and everything because it actually looked like Star Wars. :-) I totally agree with you there.

I think Poe wasn't featured enough. I hope this doesn't mean his role will be smaller than the others'. I think you said that, too? lol

The one big question I have (like almost everybody else, I guess): Where is Luke? I hope he didn't spent the last 30 years or so holed up somewhere with only faithful Artoo by his side. I can't wait to actually see him again and not just his hand (And please don't tell me he never got around to getting his hand fixed. In 30 years!).

The second teaser gave me goose bumps because of Luke's/Mark Hamill's voice-over. This trailer made me shiver because of the wonderful music.

I can't wait for the 17th! Unfortunately I'll have to wait until the 21st to see the OV. I didn't want to get spoilered (is that a verb?) on accident because I work with television, movies and stuff every day, so I decided to suffer through the German version on opening night and just enjoy the special treat a few days later as an early Christmas gift.

Exactly the same thing I keep thinking every time I see that scene in the trailer, and the one thing that keepsme doubting it really is Luke in that scene. Then again, it's his right, and it's R2, and there has to be a reason for that scene in the trailer...

Unfortunately I'll have to wait until the 21st to see the OV.

I'm afraid I'll have to wait until the DVD to see the OV :( The only major cinema with OV screenings here (Sony Center) only has 3D screenings, and I hate 3D with a fiery passion so no OV in the cinema for me :( I probably won't be able to even see it in German on the 17th (since so far, it doesn't look like I'll find someone to come along and while I don't mind going to the cinema alone, I wouldn't want to see this one alone) soI have no idea how to avoid getting spoiled :S

Oh, I bet there's a reason for that scene. Maybe it's from a more recent fight where Luke's hand got damaged again. Maybe it's a flashback to Endor. Or maybe it's something else entirely.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you! I hope you'll find someone you can drag along. I managed to convince two colleagues who never even liked Star Wars, so there is always hope. ;)

By the way, am I the only person to think that maybe Luke taught Poe how to fly? It's probably just a crazy idea, but he knew her mother...
