Got a weird phone call yesterday evening, allegedly from a cardiology practice. What was weird was that they said they were calling on behalf of my aunt and that she needed to call them right away.
My aunt has been dead since September 2000. So I don't know why they would need to speak to her about her patient account IMMEDIATELY. It isn't as if she still has any outstanding bills. I paid them off ages ago.
Obviously it's a scam. I just don't know what to do about it. I don't know if the number they left--and I did look it up, it is for something called "Cardiology PC"--is for a legitimate business that's been hacked by scammers, or if the business itself is a scam, or what.
