Okay, techies. I need your help.
I was watching Surfthechannel today--trying to watch Doctor Who--and my computer got infected with a nasty piece of malware called Antispyware Soft. I did not download ANYTHING--it just latched on. It alternates between claiming--in popups that show up every two minutes or so--that X or Y file is infected and wouldn't I like to start their program now, and sending me popups of porno sites.
I have looked up this piece of shit. It is, from what I can tell, a scam program designed to bug or frighten people into buying their vile product.
I've also found instructions for getting rid of it. They do not work. While this program is on my computer, Internet Explorer will not work. I've tried. And Internet Explorer is the only browser I have that downloads effectively. Firefox doesn't do so.
I want to get rid of this shitastic piece of reeking entrails NOW.
