Predictions

Feb 02, 2007 08:16

Yesterday, erastes and I were talking, and, since the release date was all over LJ, we started making incredibly obvious predictions about what will happen in Book 7. These are mine:

There will be a Horcrux hunt.

All of the Horcruxes will be hidden in England, despite the fact that hiding one in Antarctica would have been a really really good idea.

Harry will have no trouble detecting, finding or destroying Horcruxes, although to date there seems to be no information available about any of the above.

Luna and Neville will be all but ignored and their potential forgotten.

Even though he's dead, Dumbledore will show up in some form and dispense purportedly wise advice.

Harry will yell.

Harry will angst.

The Dursleys will be unpleasant.

Trelawney will make a completely accurate prediction which will subsequently be ignored.

Regulus will not show up as a living person, because it is inconceivable that a Slytherin could be smarter than Dumbledore and NOT drink the poison.

Peter will be cowardly.

Peter will save Harry by accident, and not because of a conscious choice to finally do the right thing.

We will be told fifty billion times that Slughorn is FAT.

Slughorn will still be creepy and will still be presented as the good Slytherin.

Ron's characterization will have more and more to do with Rupert Grint, and less and less to do with the person he was in the first few books.

Quidditch will be mentioned.

Harry will still not be in love with Hermione.

Despite all the laws and restrictions surrounding werewolves and those bitten by them, there will be no obstacles to Bill or Remus marrying human (or mostly human) women at all.

There will be at least one wedding (Bill's and Fleur's or Remus's and Tonks's).

It will prove to be indistinguishable from Anglican marriage ceremonies except that everyone will wear robes.

Tonks's Metamorphmagus powers will never be used for anything important.

Voldemort will DIE.

All the good people mentioned in the Epilogue will live happily ever after.

ETA: These are erastes's predictions.
