Odds and Ends, Again
I missed House last night. This annoys me, because I LIKE House. It's one of the few shows I actually make a point of watching. Unfortunately, it was on at a special day and time, and I don't have a TV Guide. (And the online version of TV Guide is hopelessly inadequate--it just tells you what the names of the shows/movies are, without giving thumbnail synopses.)
So, what with one thing and another, I simply forgot about it. And there won't be any new episodes for two weeks. Grrr.
At least five people on my friends' list have written about the new stuff on the Black family tree. I'm rather meh on the subject, first because it's not in the books, so it's not canon (and unless the Black family tree is included in Book 7, it's not going to BE canon). It's just authorial commentary on canon. Since it's not in the books, I don't feel that anything of mine has been Jossed.
Second, JKR a) can't do math to save her life, and b) is prone to making off-the-cuff remarks about book-related questions that, to some extent, involve math, so I feel perfectly free to ignore any non-book statements regarding ages, birthdays, years, timelines, etc.
I'm having a rather difficult time keeping track of underlucius--she's hard to find online, and her AIM has a bad habit of dying on her mid-conversation. Very vexing.
Finally, I suffered a rather ridiculous accident yesterday--I stabbed the palm of my hand with a chicken bone. (I was trying to wrap up the remnants of the chicken so that I could throw it in the garbage.) I now have a small red tear on the palm of my hand, where the bone tore the skin. It's such a silly thing to happen that it really makes me blush.
