Tuesday: Went to Brenau (dad's school) with dad. Class #1 was the last bit of a lecture on Christianity (specifically the section on Protestantism) and the first bit of a lecture on Islam (specifically the part denoting how, historically, Islam went from being a "hidden" religion to a "hated" religion in the US). Then to lunch at "Sweet Home Georgia," which sold SweetLeaf tea, which I found ironic (a cafe named for and existing in a state known for sweet tea selling bottled sweet tea brewed in Texas). Class #2 was a student presentation on Judaism. Student did pretty well, but sounded like she didn't have much prior knowledge of Judaism. Back to the house. People came over to sing and eat leftover lasagna. Had Aletheia, Michael, Amani, Johnny, Ruth and Andrew. Sang a lot of Rich Mullins. Was very fun. Recorded it on the digital audio recorder dad gave me (he has 2). Will have to go through and separate some of it out, 'cause it's all on one file right now.
Wednesday: So far, got to sleep in, left about 1015am. This is "surprise" day - didn't know what was going on. We stopped at this discount clothing store, got two shirts and some socks for Matt, got a shirt, some socks and some undergarments for me. Then on to the surprise: Lunch at the Whistle Stop Cafe in Juliette, Ga. This is where they filmed parts of Fried Green Tomatoes. Dad bought me a magnet, and I found a sign I have to give Dwan that says "Do you want to speak to the *MAN* in charge or the *WOMAN* who knows what's going on?" They had some cane (not sure if it was bamboo or sugarcane) for $1. If I could've figured out how to get it home, I might've bought it, though it wouldn't have been good as a pole, as it was awfully thin. Now back at the house. Tonight: grilled steak. That's all for the plans.
Tomorrow: out with Suzanne, etc., running errands for the wedding.
