Smallville

Does anyone actually watch Smallville anymore? I sometimes feel like I am
the only one who actually persists through the pain anymore, but on the off
chance that someone else actually does I am
curious what the fandom opinion is on Oliver Queen. Other than that he is
damn hot. (And is so much better suited to this part than Aquaman. Dude.)
I am a fan.

Putting aside the canon issues (like he is NOT a founding member of the
Justice League, people, quit fronting like he is going to be the one to set
it up) you always have to with this show or you will pull your hair out, I
was curious how fandom would receive someone who was an asshole bully in
school. Having been not-so-nice to various less-fortunate-than-me types I
definitely don't throw stones, but fandom generally seems to treat bullies
worse than murders. Even if they are atoning in robin hood-ish ways with
minimal brooding.

I just wonder if they are going to go the make-him-mayor route or the
bankrupt him into a gritty anti-hero route or just ignore all of the bizarre
things that happened to his character in various canons entirely. But since
of course they are not going to bring in Batman, and the whole Superman vs
Batman juxtaposition is what makes the Justice League interesting, they are
in dangerous territory.

Teen!Lex, all desperate to fit in, and manipulative and violent. That was
totally awesome. Hah, the idea of Lex doing pro-bono work to simultaneously
help the poor and piss off his dad is so fanfic. Unfortunately, with the
writers doing neat stuff with their new shiny rich sexy bad boy, Lex has
done a bit of falling to the wayside and is plateauing as far as interest
goes. Having a relationship with Lana is NOT a plotline. It's a thing and
she is rather hot, but we need to see some better plotline stuff if they
aren't going to put him directly opposite Clark. And trying to make the
fanbase go awh woobie!bullied!Lex makes the potential for a plotline, it's
not a plotline itself.
