Total wordcount for the year: 56,776. That's just for published works. There are a lot of stories there a few stories that I've written that need to be cleaned up and I haven't published them yet. I don't know what my wordcount was last year, but I'm guessing this is way down from that, since I wrote at least two stories last year that were over 30k.

Longest fic: No, You Can't Date A Sociopath at 18,871 words.
Shortest fic - Eat It Up at 1,051

Personal favourite fic of the year: No, You Can't Date A Sociopath. I was just so happy to finally complete a story for a Teen Wolf fest, since I'm always dropping out of those. It was my first story in that fandom. I also just really enjoyed the process of writing it. It started out as a story for a mating_games bonus round, but I really liked it and wanted to expand it. I found myself one morning just inspired and I ended up writing/planning more than half of it out in one day. It's the only story I think I wrote this year that I didn't need an extension on and that was properly beta'd, which probably helped.

Most popular fic of the year:
By hits - Don't Be Scared, It's Only Love 3202 hits
By kudos - Don't Be Scared, It's Only Love 187 kudos
By comment threads - Don't Be Scared, It's Only Love 24 comments
By bookmarks - Stay With Me 16 bookmarks

Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted? Definitely less than I'd wanted to. I didn't really predict how many fics I would write, but I think, given how many fests I'd done the previous years, I would have suspected it would be more.

What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January? None. Other than one fic, I wrote for the same pairing. I suppose I could say I'm a little surprised that I wrote a dub-con story with Said the Spider to the Fly, since it's not a genre/trope I read often.

Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them? I don't know I would say it was necessarily a risk, but writing the dub-con and a darker story like Said the Spider to the Fly was interesting. I think I realized that it is something that I can handle writing and that I found it interesting to explore that side of the characters.

Most under-appreciated fic of the year: No, You Can't Date A Sociopath. It probably wasn't necessarily underappreciated. It was for a rarepair, so I should have known it would get less traction than other stories, and it was my first TW fic, but given that it was my favorite story of the year, I wish it had gotten a little more love.

Most fun to write: Eat It Up. I wrote it for summerpornathon and the inspiration for it came to me suddenly and I was just tickled that I wrote something that had more than a little real life inspiration behind it.

Most 'holy crap, that's wrong' moment: Nothing I can think of.

Story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters: Another boring answer, but nothing I can think of.

Hardest to write: Why Do Fools Fall in Love? It's my own fault because I procrastinated so much on it, but I ended up not having time to write the story I initially wanted to, so I had to scramble to change and shorten my initial story and had difficulty figuring out how to do that.

Most unintentionally-telling story: Eat It Up. It's nothing too deep, but it made me think a little more about my own reactions to my partner cooking and figuring out some stuff about that.

Biggest Disappointment: That I didn't write enough. I didn't write enough stories and most of my stories weren't as long as they usually are. That's mot necessarily a bad thing, especially since I used to complain about how word-y I am, but I like having a good variety of stories, including long ones.

Biggest Surprise: That my most popular stories were the ones that when I initially posted them, I was sure they were the worst stories ever, and no one would like them.

Songs to blame for fics this year: I have a lot of stories with song titles, but I don't think any of my songs were really inspired by any particular songs.

My progress on last year's goals: I didn't have any specific goals last year, except to write more - which I failed at.

In the coming year, I aim to: Definitely to write more. I have a few WIP stories that I really want to get back to and complete.
