Happy Birthday, belated! Sounds like you had a good one. I still haven't seen Iron Man 3 and I really want to.

Babysitting: You don't have to watch a 10 year old like a hawk, but I doubt her parents would like you to put her in front of the Wii all day either. You should probably find out what they prefer, as far as TV/video game times. I would also say not to read explicit fic while she's around either. She could very well be able to see and read it and you don't want her asking about it or telling her parents.

Definitely find out what the kid is interested in, i.e. does she like sports or is she more artsy? Is there a pool or other water near where you live that you could take her to? Most areas usually have websites or blogs devoted to listing kid's activities/places to go. You might search for one of those to get ideas for things to do with her (don't know if you have access to a car during the day). You could take her to the library. :)

My daughter is non-stop chatter/singing/sound-making machine (she's 7). It often drives me crazy. LOL But she's also incredibly creative, funny and entertaining.

long comment is long.

Thanks!

I definitely don't want to plop her in front of the TV all day. I'll ask Jean to ask her boss what she likes doing and try to find some activities for her.

We have a cool pond and it's pretty big out there so she could have fun just playing around outside. The library's a good idea, too.

Your daughter sounds cool. :)

Appreciate the advice and long comment.
