I officially admit defeat. Well played, various NJ school districts, well played indeed.
I haven't gotten a call from the amazing middle school. I don't know if I actually expect a call at this point. I'm pretty sure that if I was their choice I would have heard from them by now. I understand not wanting to call the rejects until their pick has taken the job, but it's already late on a Friday afternoon. If that's what their doing, I don't think they're going to make the effort today. Which is a shame, because the principal and everyone was really nice. I think I'll still call on Monday just reiterate how impressed I was by the school and that I hope they'll keep me in mind if anything else comes up.
So...this sucks. No teaching job for the upcoming school year. I guess I'll start submitting my name for subbing positions on Monday. And I'll start looking into cities to move to in the next year or so...
OK, I think I'll let myself mourn for a bit. I have to be happy and peppy for Matt's going away tonight!
