The good news: After a grand total of four rehearsals with my band, we have a gig on
Sunday, and another one the following
Sunday. To say I'm slightly nervous would be an understatement, but at least these two gigs are outdoor things, and not clubs where people are coming specifically to see a band. The bad news: The second gig is the same day as the Ben and Jerry's festival that I had planned on attending with Sal and Rob. No Lemonheads and Ash and elitism for me :(
The band is going pretty well though; I get on with all of the other guys, and it's just a thrill to be playing music I love with other people who love it too. I have come to the conclusion that Mondays are long, long days for me now, and they run something like this..
6am: wake up.
6.30-40am: leave house and drive to work.
7am-4pm: work.
4.15pm: shower, eat, pack up guitar, amp, leads, pedals, etc.
5pm: leave house, drive 26 miles to Great Yarmouth.
5.45-10pm: rehearsal.
10pm-10.30pm: drive home (at considerably higher speeds than on the outward journey)
10.30pm: second shower of the day; bed (up at 6am the next morning too!).
That's about all the important stuff I have to write about right now, so I'm going to sleep.
