So I finished and delivered the mask for my friends dragon*con costume-it worked out really well, but because he's a guy, he forgot to send pictures of him actually wearing it...so you guys get a picture of the mask on:

(A) Two pieces of white paper, laying on top of a TV! (Wanted something that showed the black ties on the sides)

(B) A jar of my homemade apple jelly, because Chris wanted apple jelly, and I wanted a picture that showed off the whites of the eyes since I decided to go ahead and do that with tulle...I personally wanted to include it here because it looks like something from Aqua Teen Hunger Force :)

and (C) on me, because I wanted to show Chris how it fit to see if I needed to make any changes before sending it to him...and since he forgot to send me a picture of him wearing it (along with the rest of his awesome costume), you guys get me, wearing a Riddler mask, in my bathroom, in my PJs...

And, the inspiration for the mask:

I went with regular purple cotton fabric for the mask, white tulle for the eyes, and black ribbon for the ties. I wanted something stretchy, but the elastic that the closest store to me had was too wide (did I mention I was running over a 100 degree fever while doing this and didn't want to drive too far?), and so black ribbon it was. Also, I was gonna use my grommett thingy to put on the ribbon, only to find my mom had loaned it out and didn't know when I would get it back. FML. I sewed the ribbon on and it held up throughout the day, which was in the 90's here, so I guess it did pretty well.

And, just for shits and giggles, my new cross stitch pattern, which as soon as my hand quits cramping form drawing it out, I will probably start stitching on a kitchen towel. Bonus points if you know where it's from, and yes, it's definitely something geeky :)

EDIT-(Sept. 02, 2012: 11:45pm): Since everyone has pretty much guessed and everyone who did guess, guessed correctly, I probably should add The Doctor to my tags :)
