Battle Shield for my Viking wife Sheri and son Lars

I built the shield for two different costumes; when my wife used it we had an antique cross mounted to the front, but that did not hold up well, so when my son the barbarian used it, he opted for me to paint a skull.

Now, if you wanted to play with the SCA, you'd take a length of garden hose, split it lengthwise and run it around the circumference to cover up the edge. Protects the shield when the edge gets bashed.

I like the rivets.

I used to make fencing bucklers from wooden plaques and pot handles. They looked pretty but they were too heave to be practical.

The belt idea is ingeneous! Great shield, thanks for posting.
