I was riding the bus home from school/work today, and something happened. As the number four rounded the corner, I heard a faint small jungle. This Jingle sounding much like the song that is played by one of those spinning light toys you get from Barnimum Baily's circus. I didn't realize at first what it was, that jingling, that catchy tune, "What is that?" I thought to myself. As we neared the source and the jingle grew louder I realized what it was. "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" *see Darth Vader in episode III*
The Ice cream trucks have begun to poke their aluminum refrigerated noses out of their garage shaped caves and have begun to prowl the streets again, preying on the innocent souls of children. These creatures luring the children with their siren song, annoying their parents for the inflated prices of the icecream that they could buy for half the price, in bulk, at the nearest Walmart or Costco.
These creatures are dangerous, when you hear the jingle you should cover your child's ears so as not to lose your child to it's charms. These creatures roam the streets near heavily child populated areas; apartments, parks, schools, etc. The creatures seem to be afraid of adults, they tend to run from adults and teenagers, they prey only on children. When they are devouring a child they can take anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour to finish. During this time their siren song grows louder, in hopes of perhaps drawing out more children to devour.
This summer is going to be a hot one, so the population of the Evil Siren Ice cream trucks are going to grow greatly. I hope that you remain safe and sane when they are in the prowl around your neighborhood.
