TV commentary:
Riverdale- Answers revealed, but they just lead to more secrets.
So we actually get a lot of answers. Penelope definitely killed Clifford, Claudius, and other men- she didn't kill the SoQM, because she only kills dudes. Why did she kill Claudius? Because apparently the chemical runoff from the production of fizzle rocks got into the reservoir, and that caused the seizures (which for some reason only affects females)
Betty argues that she can't just kill bad people, to which Penelope is all, "oh, can't you?" Hal told her about Chic, so if Betty tries to expose her, she'll expose Betty.
FP is the one who shot Hiram, Hermione went to him to do the deed, and FP wanted revenge for all that Hiram had done. FP thought the sheriff spot would protect him from being double crossed, but turns out Manetta is alive (c'mon, that was obvious, the body they found was decapitated and thus couldn't be definitively identified). Hermione wanted Manetta to finish the job and they'd pin it on FP.
Lucky for him, Jug sent Sweet Pea to follow Hermione and finds out that she and Manetta had been having an affair. And so, Jug comes clean about Tall Boy, and FP decides to kill two birds with one stone. He has Alice "interview" him as he announces how he caught Hiram's attempted killer, Tall Boy, whom he sadly had to kill when he resisted arrest. And so, since FP has it all wrapped up, Hermione can't go against it without exposing herself.
Anyways, Hermione and Penelope were angry at the same thing- Clifford and Hiram continuing the Fizzle Rock business even after knowing the runoff was causing seizures in the girls. Hiram promised to stop it, and that's why there was the quarantine, so they would have time to end the operation, which he didn't.
With the men out of the way, Hermione wanted to sell off the business. Only V had other ideas, just to get rid of the drugs. And so she and Reggie go around her mom and steal the drugs, and burn them along with the drug making equipment. Which is dumb, because Hermione did manage to sell the business, and got the money up front, so now they're in big shit.
Other stuff- Josie and Archie might become an item?
The Magicians- Well, that didn't take long, thankfully.
So Marina quickly gets a magical voicemail from Dean Fogg warning "the person who's trying to mess with the spell" not to. She recognizes it as Dean Fogg and presumes the gang are those favorite students of his. She decides to help them and breaks into Brakebills, and poisons Dean Fogg with the same potion he used to ensorcel them.
Why? She thinks now that he's infected, he'll have a fail safe to cure himself. Only, the protection spell is too important, so he decides to succumb to the spell rather than reveal to Marina if he has a antidote or not.
Lucky for him, "Kim" doesn't accept him just leaving, especially after his heart to heart with her during his "unfinished business" tour before he loses himself. Talking with Todd, she realizes, if the Library rations magic, how is he powering the enchantment masking who they are?
She realizes he must have a perpetual magic battery. This, combined with the fact that she's apparently immortal, she manages to short out the battery by constantly touching it and causing a shock that kills her, resurrecting and doing it again. This undoes the spell, and the gang and Dean Fogg get their memories back.
Margo gets her memories back in time to briefly help Fillory. According to acting high king Fen, Ember's back, which is bad because his nascent power is accompanied by a strong opioid that's affecting people, like making them fall asleep at inopportune times and die. "Janet" figures out where Ember is going to show up, only she gets her memory back right at the confrontation, and recognizes "Ember" as Bacchus, who's just hiding out there and having fun. And just as Fen gives the crown back to Margo, Bacchus sends her away because she's about to ruin his fun.
Quentin gets his memory back and finally realizes the full extent of the situation he's in. He tries to appease the entity possessing Eliot by promising to stay with him, but makes a misstep by being too interested in checking whether the entity would be willing to give Eliot back when he was done playing around. And so it gets mad and immediately teleports them to the rest of the gang and seems ready to murder them.
