Vaycay time! Got through the work week, now just need to make it to NYC. Got Dear Evan Hansen Friday night, then the usual family Christmas stuff over the weekend. Monday is Korean BBQ followed by Matilda. And at some point I'll prolly treat the parentals and sparkyboy to dinner in Manhattan. You know, I realized the other day that I've never not spent Christmas in NYC? Well, they say its the best place to spend the Christmas holidays.
Today's Hallmark movie: "A Christmas To Remember", where Mira Sorvino plays an amnesiac who spends time with a widower-veterinarian and his family. Of course, she falls for the guy and his family and that small town life.
Which is fine, though when her best friend and boyfriend finally find her, they're kinda ridiculous. I mean, its kinda funny that Jennifer (or Maggie, as the townspeople knew her) was obviously emotional and had grown very attached to John and the town and didn't want to leave, and her friend and the boyfriend are oblivious. The boyfriend especially, because its clear from the way Jennifer was talking to John, they had something going on, and he's like not concerned at all.
I was a little annoyed that her best friend wasn't reading the room, all, "We need to head back to your real home!" Its not until they're back in NYC that she finally catches on to how sad and morose Jennifer was that she was all, "Get back to them! I'll make sure there's a ticket at the airport for you!" You know what could've saved everyone time and money?! If she realized that before she dragged her friend all the way back to NYC!
