TV commentary:
The Fosters- Oh, thank goodness.
I mean, I didn't think the show would have Mariana's team end up being a bunch of losers, but still, it was good to see her be able to give all the haters their comeuppance. Of course, I'm still confused where exactly her team placed. Like they didn't qualify in the top 6, but there's something with alliances so they allied with the other girl team, and that alliance beat the asshole team. So since they were allied with the team that won, does that mean they are also the winners?
Whatever, when Stef was telling Lena, well, at least after this competition things will be over and they don't have to deal with overly competitive Mariana, I was confused, because why have her stealing Jesus' meds if it wasn't going to end up be an issue. But they drop that she now wants to compete in Worlds, and she has the SATs coming up, so I guess she'll have plenty of reasons to pop pills to try and do it all.
And apparently Callie is out of her gourd (or perhaps has a lot of pent up hormones since she has no place to screw around with AJ) continuing to investigate even after having cops show up at her door telling her to stop harassing the one guy. I mean, she does stop looking into that guy but instead runs down another clue and asks around the neighborhood. Which way to keep a low profile, she already knows someone is trying to cover shit up, and she's just sticking her head out like that?
She and Aaron eventually find a lead which leads them to a sketchy looking house which Callie freaking knocks on the door of. Aaron rightfully says, what the hell are you going to do if the guy like, gets pissed off and tries to kill them? To which she answers, well there's two of us, hopefully there's only one of him. What if he has a gun? If this is the guy, he already showed he's willing to murder someone. Anyways, after nosing around the house(!) she and Aaron stake it out, and the guy does eventually show up. But finally Callie shows some sense and decides to leave the police work to real police.
Like Stef, who looks into the kid who claimed Molloy raped him. The detective who gives her the info was all, oh, the charges were never pursued because the victim was 18 so it wasn't actually stach. But when Stef finds the kid, he's only now turned 18, so obviously the line she was given was a lie. So she's pretty suspicious of one of the detectives now.
Other stuff, Brandon has his Julliard audition coming up. Stef wants him to move back, but he acts like has an obligation to Cortney and her kid. Dude, its not your kid! You're her HS boyfriend, you have no responsibility to her. Stef brings up, what if he gets into Julliard. Brandon is all, that's different. And Stef hopes it is, and hopes he's not thinking of doing something monumentally stupid like tanking his audition to stay with Cortney.
Oh, and the Fosters get an offer, despite the buyers walking in on Callie and AJ trying to do it. They're offering 10K above asking, so they can't really turn it down. But it also means they need to get their asses out within a month. So that's definitely a downer not to end the ep on. I hope we get to see Lena's dad feel incredibly shitty for what his foolishness is doing to his daughter's family.
