TV commentary:

Person of Interest- Hooray! Since the shadowy government folks are after Root, the machine helps her escape. And a pretty slick escape it is. She basically knocks out the entire hospital with gas, and tells the Doctor her escape plan during one of their therapy sessions (as everyone else in the building is passing out), which includes a neck chop to incapacitate him, which we don't actually see, but she said she was going to do it as soon as the machine calls, and it does. Unfortunately, he was incredulous and thinking she was just saying a bunch of crazy things.

It was shades of terminator, when the doctor walks into the hall and sees everyone knocked out, and is even more surprised when Root gets into a shootout with that one secret agent guy. But since she has the machine guiding her, she actually gets the drop on him when he tries to sneak up on her. But the machine makes her spare him. But yeah, seriously, evil bad-ass Amy Acker is always so hott!

As for the case of the week, the gang uses Carter, Shaw, and Zoe as bait to track down this week's number, that dude from Common Law. (He ends up picking up Joss) They think he's some sort of serial killer, but he's not, he's just creepy and a little stalkerish. Turns out he fathered a kid, and his dead ex's rich-ass father wants to off him lest he try to claim the child. Turns out, when he went to his baby mama's funeral, the father thought he knew about the kid (he was told his ex had an abortion) and might try to worm his way into his son's life. So they save him, and help him get custody.

I thought there was going to be more to it. Like the guy really is a serial killer. But I guess he's just really weird and obsessive? And the missing girl was a big coincidence? Other notes- Shaw is incredibly impressed with Carter, and senses Reese and Zoe have a thing? Is she implying mutual attraction, or that they've been kinda seeing each other offscreen? Also, she spoils Bear, much to Finch's chagrin.
