I originally intended to show off the actual album cover, only to realize that most of you wouldn't recognize it. What you would recognize is...
THE ETERNAL DIVAby Jenis Quatlane
This album contains all the theme songs from the Eternal Diva, the new Professor Layton theatrical movie that premiered right before Christmas.
The actual performer on the album is
Nana Mizuki. However, THE ETERNAL DIVA is one of those tie-in albums that are attributed to the character, not the voice actor, and so Mizuki is only mentioned in the credits. In addition, these songs are designed as a more classical performance and thus sound nothing like Mizuki's usual work. Thus, I decided to stick with the album's pattern and label it as Jenis Quatlane.
Of particular note is the very first track, which begins with a small piece by Jenis and then breaks into the familiar accordeon motiph from Hershel Layton's theme music. Another honorable mention goes to the eighth track, which is a gorgeous and driven piece one would expect from an action scene. The rest of the songs are designed as period pieces (remember that Professor Layton is set in Victorian England) and have a very operatic feel to them. All of them are beautiful and worth listening to.
I'm leaving this post unlocked so anyone can download this and share the joy. For those of you who are interested in supporting the publisher and the franchise, you can
buy the actual disc on Play-Asia.
I have every other soundtrack and theme song in the series (with exception of Time Travel, the third game's theme). If anyone wants them uploaded, tell me.
