Both Spruce AND Moose

Plans? Scattered, yes I have them all over.
I've nearly completed the courses necessary to officially be accepted into the faculty of science. This girl never thought that implicit differentiation, organic chemistry or myelinated vagus would be words she understood together, but they are now officially comfortable and more or less understood. Good, then- this was not easy...it was mucho hard work; have no life for 8 months and study every waking moment kind of hard work.

This summer I get to spend with Sam living in a cabin in Northern BC. It is very small and wonderful, with one most romantic clothesline and frequent moose in the yard. The community is very small, called 'Hart'. Afraid of bears? Oh yes...Sam will be living at a research station for half of the time so I will be a hermit. I need to bike into town (Prince George) for work and also not pee my pants out of fright in said cabin alone. When my grandma was in her old farmhouse alone as a young lady she just made pull taffy to distract herself. I'm going to build a birdhouse for chickadees. And paint pictures of chickadees on it.
I just need to be 'bear aware.' The process will begin with making a hilarious T-shirt that says "bear aware"...I'll sort out the details after that. Shotgun by the bed? Knives tucked in my socks? A buffalo costume? They don't seem to bother the buffalo...
There are some research possibilities for the summer that are not concrete enough to mention...but the BIG news:
I will be moving to Chicago in the fall to spend a term working in a laboratory there. Its a long and complicated story, but in the end I will know a lot about something very nerdy and specific that music psychology researchers at McGill are all over right now. I'm chasing the pituitary carrot, and then I plan on dangling...big time dangling.
And p.s., I will, by then, also be qualified bear aware.
