This morning the sun was rising beside Mt. Douglas, the base of which plays out into these wonderful sprawling fields filled with fresh crops, ponds, deer and a few horses. I smell like an animal, which likely influences the group of deer on Lochside Drive in their decision to stay put as I run through their breakfast circle. They stare with leaves hanging out of their mouths, and I stare with the residual mucous from last weeks horrible sickness streaming from the corner of my mouth. I backhand it and a rabbit hops into a bush. And a rooster crows, and the sun retracts as branches interfere. It's just kind of raw and most days it hurts a lot, which subsequently teaches me to feel very happy about all the things in life that don't.
I've been spending a lot of time with Chelsea...stalking her, really. Meeting her at work for lunch, bike riding, attending horrid shows featuring funk-styles and dancing drummers. Ass-dancing drummers. She cooks meals for me because I don't know how.
Speaking of bike riding- a few weeks ago Brooke and I jammed all afternoon and then went for a ride down the Lochside trail. I don't have the social etiquette to know that asking to borrow money for farm eggs from a vegan is probably rude. Whatever....vegans.
After the Dawson festival we're going to tour through the interior performing Brooke's solo music, as well as a few acoustic IM slow jams. I get to sing and play the accordion. There will be about 6 of us going, so it should be a fun little tour- except that that guy I don't really like is coming. Maybe spending every day in a van with him will help.
Stacey and I went canoeing last week, followed by ice cream- a tradition. I'm going to miss her a lot when she moves back to SK.
Oh yes- I'm moving back to SK for the month of August (and then Montreal in September).
