On Clanks and Mechanics. DING!

Ding is a Clank constructed by Bella Fennix.

Ding ding ding!
As most Clanks tend to follow an animalistic appearance, Ding looks closest to a cross between a large crab and a scorpion. It's about the length of a grown man's arm, although surprisingly lightweight due to all the small clockwork inside its body. It's a gold-brass color, as are its legs, tail, and everything except the eye, which remains white and large. (o)

It has long, mechanically segmented legs, and possesses a long scorpion tail with a claw on the end for balance. It also has two forward arms with claws on the end for grasping and interacting with the world.

On the center of its back is a keyhole--this keyhole is used to keep Ding wound up, and will pretty much work with any key or item similarly sized, as long as it can fit in the hole and turn. To click Ding on is a little button just below the eyepiece, red colored and pilfered from yet another alarm clock.

Ding is capable of understanding complex commands so long as they're spoken in an understandable tone. Although it'll follow these commands to the letter, its intelligence is similar to that of a highly intelligent dog, with the exception of having an incredibly high understanding of human speech. It's also smart enough to know how to defend itself to a degree, but due to its relatively recent construction, it's still learning who is friend and who's foe.

The Clank communicates through dings and clicks of varying pitch and tone, due to having several bells constructed within its body.

Unlike Agatha's Dingbots, Ding is incapable of making other Clanks. It has no real desire to do so, nor the capability due to its design. Ding will, however, go to Bella for repairs if it becomes damaged. And it will do so with determination.

ETA: Incidentally, due to its construction in the Nexus, Ding is capable of understanding all forms of speech, although this may not be obvious.
