[The last few months have been one monster of a roller-coaster for Koakuma. Losing friends, making new ones, flesh-eating butterflies, people being kidnapped, people trolling the village, the list went on and on, and much of it was unfortunately negative. As such, it wasn't much of a surprise for the girl when she found herself having difficulty ( Read more... )

-Well now that you're in the main chamber, Koa, you SHOULD recognize it. It's Voile... dimly lit and rather chilly.-

[Waaaaaait wait wait wait.]

I'm...home?

[She begins to look around. How has the place fared in her absence? Or does it appear as if she never left at all?]

-Well... things don't look good. The fairies attempt to do what they can, but there's just a generally gloomy feel to the place.-

[Not well at all, then... Koa's very first thought is that she needs to get to work and make sure everything is in order, just like normal. She reaches down to pick up a book that was left on the floor, and then glances to the shelf now in front of her, looking to see if it belongs here or not.]

-Nope. You'll have to look further for that book's home, Koa.-

[Typical. The books were always left sitting out several rows away from where they belonged, whenever it was time to do the usual rounds. She holds the stray firmly with both hands, and begins to look for the proper shelf for it while trying to ignore the random fairies chattering in the background. She thinks some of them, the ones that might recognize her, are being curious about how her wings are different than before.]

-Deep... deep within the library, where that book is located, is a single candle lighting a single desk. There's a familiar girl sitting there... she appears to be asleep.-

[Koakuma glances at the book again for another moment. This was one of the ones that belonged at the desk? How had it gotten all the way out there, then? She would worry about that later; for now, she proceeds to walk around the desk and places it there in front of Patchouli while trying not to wake her yet, one of the Filial wings unintentionally brushing her in the process.

Once the "this book needs put back" mindset dies down, though, she realizes exactly where she is and who she's looking at. Her initial thought is one of slight disbelief, but once the shock passes...have another chair being carried over to the desk, with Koa sitting in it waiting for you to stir.]

-Eventually, she does, the slight noises and brushing of feathers having brought her to the waking world once more. She blinks for a moment, staring at Koakuma. She can't tell for certain... if she's real, or if it's another dream. She just... stares.-

[Koa has no clue of if this is real life or just some fantasy, a delusion born of her mind playing cruel games with her. But if some small corner of her mind is going to dangle a lure in front of her like this, she's going to take the bait.]

Miss Patchouli...? [Her tone is a bit of a hopeful one. She doesn't sound quite as nervous as Patchy might remember her being, either. Instead, she seems a little calmer, not as worried or as flustered as she would sometimes get in the past, but the usual hint of concern is still there.]

-Patchouli practically flew out of her seat, clinging desperately to her familiar with all of the strength she could muster. She immediately began to cry.-

[This is a very familiar scene. Quite convincing, too; if it was just some kind of dream, she imagines that she would have been asked to go and pick up after the fairies and their half-done job already.]

It's...it's okay. I'm here. [She's beginning to think so, but it's impossible to say if she were sent home for real or if it were just a temporary Shift like that one time-except backwards. And if this were the same Patchouli she had known until the disappearance from the village two months ago, would she still have those wings? Let's take a look in mid-hug, here...]

-Nope, the wings are gone. However, there are two stitched up patches on the back of Patchouli's gown where the wings once were...-

I had looked... looked for so long for away to bring you back to me... nothing worked...

[Patchouli had attempted to summon her back? Wouldn't she have noticed that? Maybe that barrier around the village interfered...

She should probably know how Koa had felt about the separation, herself. And that calm that may have been noticed? It's beginning to fall apart.]

I was devastated, seeing the whole room empty like that... I...didn't know what to do...and had to get out of that apartment, didn't want to be constantly reminded that you were gone...

[She doesn't yet go on to explain how she managed to deal with it, or if she had at all.]

It's alright... it's alright... we're together now. -Patchouli could barely speak through her own sobbing.-

Adell helped me get used to things after that, b-but it just wasn't the same.

[Speaking of...does being back home mean she's forced to abandon the friends she'd managed to make? As much as she wanted to be home with Patchouli, she doesn't want to leave them either...]
