Syndicates/Organizations/Gangs
The Organization: (Current Leader: gracefulsin) The Organization is mainly made up of highly intelligent people, including many scientists. Many people from this group seem to mix and mingle within both the middle and upper classes. However, behind their masks of research and planning, The Organization runs the largest black market system in the city. They're manipulative, strong, and ridiculously hard to outwit. They control an underground system of transportation to the next city over, but use only secret routes to transport goods back and forth from the two cities. The people of The Organization are neat - they never leave a trail - and seem to have connections to everything and everyone around the city. They tend to avoid political battles (especially when they take place on the streets) but are known to supply all sides with information, weapons, and other such items (for a fairly high sum). Tantalus: (Current leader: bunnyxfran) Lower class band of thieves and outcasts who live in the rougher streets of the city. They are the most widely known band in the city, infamous for their organized and well planned raids and riots. Even though they are seen as the most troublesome group, in some eyes they are saviors. Tantalus members have a soft eye for all the young orphans on the streets. They steal many things from the middle class and upper class, usually giving some of the helpful spoils to the needy kids. Tantalus is swift, keen, and quiet. Some say they even have spies and helpers in other classes and other areas of the city, that all center to help Tantalus. They have their own guild and head quarters in the lower class area of the city, where they house many other lower class people. Tantalus take care of themselves first and foremost, and try to stay out of the political battles between the other syndicates.
Key Blade: A very small, low-key group of lower class orphans. They are more organized then most orphan groups, but are still fairly quiet within the city. They prefer this, as it usually keeps them out of trouble. Made up entirely of orphaned youth (accept for their leader figure Dagger), the children stick together and rely on each other to survive. They steal, they hide, and they run. Though they have a tendency to be sneaky, they are full of aspirations and hope. Many of the children wish to someday live the life of a middle class citizen. The orphans of Key Blade often rely on Tantalus for many things (such as food and shelter) when they are in dire need of it and have no place to go.
AVALANCHE: (Leaders: lockhearttifa, strife_delivery) A group of middle class reactionaries who fight against the upper class. By day they work many jobs around the city but have meetings during the rainy nights, trying to plan out events to further better the city. They're a small, but slowly growing group. Their objectives are to reach Alexander and demand change, and to bring the city back under a safe roof. No matter what it takes, they'll fight hard to make it right. AVALANCHE conduct many main street riots and are in constant battles with members of both SeeD and the occasional Turks which are trying to resist all of AVALANCHE's attempts. They have small talks with Tantalus every once in a while but both syndicate groups like to work alone.
ShinRa: (President: ascendation) The leading influence of the government, ShinRa is cold, hard business. They keep money and law above else, making sure the upper class gets what they need and want, but ignoring the lower class and the state of the city. They will do whatever is necessary to keep things the way they want. They train soldiers as well as help coordinate all the government decisions along side Alexander. ShinRa seems to have a tight hold on both Alexander and Yevon. Though it seems as if Alexander is running the city, most decisions are based on ShinRa’s influences.
SOLDIER: A division of the military. SOLDIER members are usually upper class people who are used solely for the dirtiest work across and around the city. They are the best trained and the first picked for the hardest jobs. SOLDIER members are only called upon if necessary. Members of this fraction are constantly being sent out to other nations and cites for foreign business. The have little business within the streets, but many SOLDIER members lead and conduct, working as generals on the battlefield. SOLDIER is in direct ownership of ShinRa and will only take orders from members of the ShinRa company.
Turks: (Head Officer: suited_perficio) Made up of all middle class people, The Turks are a well organized syndicate that work primarily as ShinRa's dirty work pawns. They are deathly committed to ShinRa, despite being middle class citizens. Turks are trained in unique forms of fighting styles, as well as spying and any other sly work that needs to be done by ShinRa. They're strong, and almost match the power of SOLDIER.
Alexander: Ruled by Queen Brahnne; they are the highest ruling upper class sect of the city. The members of Alexander are actually a large and long line of nobility. Many choices about the city are directly influenced by ShinRa, but put out in their name. The royal family manipulated in order to make things run in favor of the upper ruling class. They are rather indulgent in the good things of life and ride whatever waves that come towards them. It has a history of being a strong family, despite its current reputation. Corruption seems to wave around this syndicate, but even within the castle walls there are people who completely understand what is going on. They have divine protection from ShinRa, SeeD, and SOLDIER. Any attempts to directly speak with Alexander on a political level will have to get past those three first and foremost.
SeeD: Another division of the military. SeeD is the military fraction of the city where the majority of the soldiers are on the front line, fighting a seemingly endless war. They are middle class men and women who are highly trained in many forms of battle. They are fighting in the name of the upper class, defending the way the city works today, all the while being played like bagpipes. Besides fighting the war, many SeeD soldiers are used against the riots to calm them with any necessary force in the city streets. They also serve as guards and police. SeeD is directly controlled by Alexander and will only take orders directly from the royal family. SeeD is also used to resist the advancements by AVALANCHE.
Yevon: Yevon is made up of all middle class citizens but work as the clergy of the city. Many gods and goddesses are worshiped in the city, and Yevon makes sure the people get the rights they deserve for religion. Some parts of Yevon seem obscured by the way they work, but Yevon seems to be on all sides of the political battle. They have churches solely for lower class shelter, as well as churches strictly for upper class only. Yevon seems to be wary of the constant battles in the street, but feel as if they can't do much to change things. Some believe it is because ShinRa has a close hold upon them. Yevon will always deny the fact that ShinRa has tight holds on them, claiming that they are directly under ownership of Alexander.

The Judges: Unlike the police and military units of the city, the Judges are head of the law. Those of the lower class think of them as professional executioners, while the upper class see them as bringers of justice and law. Placed under the direction of the Queen they are used to put forth "law and order" within the city. They are also used as the Queen's eyes and ears where they may spy on the more affluent members of the city. Unlike the Turks, they control the prison system and are the ultimate last word on who hangs in the gallows.
