Social Classes

The people of the city are divided into three classes depending on wealth or social statues, education or occupation.

Lower Class: The nights in the city are hard and long - especially in the eyes of a child with no home and no warmth. Children run to huddle together in groups, living and surviving with each other through the cold rain. The lower class is made up of many homeless children and youth, even some adults that can't seem to keep up with the city. Many parents are killed or have abandoned their children because of the high cost of raising a child. The children are often seen as pitiful creatures and thieves of the night. Many youth band together to survive, living in the outskirts of the city, as well as the small abandoned homes around the main streets. The lower class is also made up of the rough gangs and black market guilds around the city.

Middle Class: During the day, when the rain has stopped and the cobblestones have dried, the citizens that have money to live come to see the day. The build, they work and they try and keep the falling city together. Their wary and tired eyes watch the children run freely up and down the hard streets. The markets open and the merchants both traveling and stationed within the city open. This is when the middle class joins the outside world to try and enjoy the day. Sadly, the children tend to steal, some even going as far as to attack. It's a harsh world for the middle class, but they must also find a way to live in this old city. They care for it, and work the land as best as they can. Many look to the upper class in anger for their actions towards the rest of the city. Many are servants and workers to the city and the upper class.

Upper Class: The large suburbs, north of the city lays a wealthy area. The homes are like a mosaic of colors and pieces. The citizens of the area just outside of the main city streets seem to live in a life of luxury. Horses, grand parties and nothing to ever bother them. High stone walls that protect these homes from the rat infested filth of the main streets. They pay no tax, and life a grand life. But not all people here seem to be stuck in the clouds with parties and the high life. The intellect of these people is quite high, and the more concerned want to change the city, though there are still many there who turn a cold shoulder to the city.
